I have asked this on the Dublin page also. But I would be interested to see what lads who have no vested interests might say here. Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8170 - 16/04/2013 09:01:14 1368430 Link 0 |
I must admit im not a huge Connolly fan as i think he blows very hot and cold in games. Great options in the forward line for Dublin nonetheless. Tough decisions for Dublin management lie ahead. kerry74 (Kerry) - Posts: 1354 - 16/04/2013 10:05:32 1368453 Link 0 |
I would also have a question mark over Connolly as I feel he will be a target for needling this year & could react. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5030 - 16/04/2013 10:17:27 1368460 Link 0 |
Muckross and Kerry, would ye believe, for me, Connolly is actually potentially our best outfield player. And, i know this will go down like a lead balloon, but i reckon the man has more talent and ability than Bernard Brogan Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8170 - 16/04/2013 10:21:55 1368465 Link 0 |

Aye but he's a loose cannon Liam. Too easy to psychologically get the better of in the biggest games in my opinion. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9963 - 16/04/2013 10:43:39 1368481 Link 0 |
Connolly a good footballer but tempermental and i only remember him having 1 great against Tyrone a few years back. Dont insult B.Brogan by comparing the 2. Connolly would not lace BB boots. kerry74 (Kerry) - Posts: 1354 - 16/04/2013 10:53:33 1368488 Link 0 |
You won't have to worry about picking Connolly Break_er (Donegal) - Posts: 798 - 16/04/2013 11:00:44 1368493 Link 0 |
I think connolly will struggle to hold his place. He will probably do so this year, as the likes of kilkenny and mannion are young, and he has more of a phsyical presence, but over the next few years he could struggle, that is going on what he has shown to date anyway. Connolly was captain against Tyrone in the league last month. That gives you an inkling of what Jim Gavin thinks of him. Floops (Dublin) - Posts: 1623 - 16/04/2013 11:38:58 1368518 Link 0 |
It would be a great match up to see a flying Dublin attack against the best defence in the business, Donegal, aka The Borg. Resistance is futile!! MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5030 - 16/04/2013 11:43:18 1368520 Link 0 |
Muckross, but while the Borg captured Picard, lest we forget, eventually, the enterprise won him back :) Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8170 - 16/04/2013 11:48:06 1368526 Link 0 |
Liam, joe brolly said ciaran mdonald was a swedish maid, that doesnt mean he is one... The same applies re canavan on connolly... TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 16/04/2013 11:49:55 1368528 Link 0 |
The Donegal defence is like the Great Wall of China....its so big you can see it from space! Snufalufagus (Dublin) - Posts: 8100 - 16/04/2013 11:50:08 1368530 Link 0 |
I wonder will he definitely be available? I don't want to wade into non-GAA territory but from reading the news reporters it sounds like a serious case. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9963 - 16/04/2013 12:02:41 1368539 Link 0 |
