6 best backs in the country

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Since there was a forwards thread, I think its only fair that the backs get some limelight (for once).

Marc O'Sé - Still the best corner back in the country in my opinion, hes the Rolls Royce of defenders, the guy has it all still at the age of 32.

Karl Lacey - Brilliant attacking half back, deserving of his POTY award last year. Donegals most important player in my eyes.

Neil McGee - A fantastic athlete, the best full back in the country over the past 2 years.

Emmet Bolton - Hes Kildares best player for me, every time I watch them play he has a huge influence. Great attacking asset.

Kevin Nolan - Hes been one of Dublins best players over the last few years, great man marker and we may not have won the AI in 2011 without him.

Michael Shields - Hes been brilliant since returning from Australia, played a huge part in the AI and League wins for Cork.

CaisleanCnucha, how could you? Somewhere a shiver has just gone down clondalkindub's back and he has felt an urgent need to access the internet...

Sheilds pipped Higgins to the post for me, if it makes you feel any better I dwelt on that one for a while.

And I guess you're talking about ROC? Shock horror 2 full backs on the list and neither is O'Carroll! I still rate O'Carroll very highly but I feel the other two are a bit more versatile, whereas ROC is more of a powerhouse. He could easily bypass them though as hes still only about 23 or 24 if I remember correctly.

Cadogan, mcgee, cafferky.
Higgans, lacey, t o'shea.

Went for full backs who I could see man marking the best full forwards in the game. I went for the best attacking half backs in the game imo.

I think cafferkey is best defender in country . I'd go for marc o se , lacey , Rory o c , Kevin McKiernan and I know its a curve ball but I think Richie feeney is class . Lacey the most natural talent

Feeney has played most of his ball for Mayo in the forwards over the last 2 years!

Just build your back line around 'The Roc' and you'll be fine.

Lee Keegan deserves a mention aswell I think, hes been fantastic the last year or so (maybe longer I just didn't noticed). He just missed out on my list.

There are some great players in the other divisions, but the sad truth is we never get to see them.
