Tipp v Kilkenny. Same old same old. Two absolutely dire semi finals. A great sport but the competition is very, very limited. The final will be brilliant and thank God for that but the appeal of the competitions are dying and I don't know what can be done to improve them. What are the odds on a Tipp Kilkenny All-Ireland final ? What are the odds on a team outside the big three winning the Liam Mc Carthy Cup for the first time since 1998 ? Since 1998 8 different teams and teams from all 4 provinces have won the Sam Maguire.

Very poor days hurling , both Galway and the Dubs were very disappointing , doesn't bode well for the Summer at all , Kilkenyn and Tipp seem to have improved from last year , Galway , Cork , Limerick , Dublin and surely Waterford will have all gone back significantly

If u mean revenge by trying towin the game with pure hurling yes. But if u mean going out and try and take a lad out of the game for 6 months definitely not, it's not he's nature.

Agree with almost everything that you say except possibly that highlighted in bold. Will the final be great? I hope it is. I know Tipp beat Kilkenny in the league round-robin but thinking back to last year's semi-final in August, it was a non-event with KK winning handy. I hope Tipp won't be as bad again. If they are, we are going to be in a for poor summer's hurling.

Dublin deserved what they got yesterday end off, no Dublin poster had any expectations from that game. They are team completely in need of a new direction. Sad to see 2 or 3 duel players at start of year leaving the panel for Football and with not a snowballs acance in hell of even making the Dublin final 30. A complete overhaul required here. As for Tipp - terrific but they won't beat KK no one will.

Tipp were sharp but it was an embarrassingly inept performance from Dublin in many ways. They tried hard and didn't give up but hurling was mainly atrocious. Even though they actually had more of the ball, they wasted it through hit and hope high balls, wides and dropping it short. I know they have been doing heavy training but physicality is not where they are where they are being found out, it's hurling! So less army endurance training and more ball work. Otherwise it is going to be a very short Summer.

Thought Liam Rushe & McCaffery were very poor yesterday & Keaney was quiet for long periods. Don't know about their positioning. Dublin are still overdoing the handpassing & lack the cuteness & class of Tipp & the Cats. As for Galway, Joe Canning is still too far from the goals & Damien Hayes should be going for his own scores more instead of looking to always offload.

Rushe should never have been on Corbett. He is not a man marker. Corcoran or Durkin or Carton would have handled him better. You are right about the over-elaboration. You will get away with that against 1B teams as the game is played at a lower pace. Dublin were just not up to speed. Hard to see any positives other than one or two individual performances.

richiescats,I dont believe he would.
So now we've a situation where Dublin,Limerick and Cork have or will continue to suffer due to league structure.Given Cork's stature in hurling,Dublin being the "pet project" of the GAA,i still believe the league will be restructured for next year.

I think Tipp are more like the team of 2009-2010 benny. They seem to have the fire back in their bellies and look a reinvigorated outfit under the new management. They will be looking to put one over Kilkenny prior to the championship.Kilknny will be Kilkenny and try to rub Tipps noses in to the ground. All in all the outlook for the summer looks entirely predictable. There will be plenty of decent matches and lots of entertainment but I hope it will not be a sideshow to the inexorable progress of Tipp and Kilkenny to the All-Ireland final. Hurling at this stage desperately needs freshness.

Dublin were over trained, had no fresshness about them, the biggest problem Dublin have is Daly, said it last year he should of gone, Dublin under Daly are getting stale with each year.As for Tipp we really don't know where we are at this stage, at least after league final we will know where we stand. KK are still setting the standards looking good again and still missing a few, hard to know about Galway I feel they are slipping a small bit, seem to be lack a few scoring forwards and in need of a new fullback.

Very dissappointed the weekend i knew it was going to be hard to walk away with the win and in the back of my mind we would loose, but to loose in the manner we did was hard to watch. Hopefully the lads keep the heads up need to get back to the drawing board and get focused again for next outing. UP DA DUBS...
