Ballybofey confirmed as venue for Tyrone game

Good start for Donegal in the championship. I would have had no issue with the game being in clones, but capacity and ticket demand is a tenuous argument when u look at the 2 fixtures between the teams in the semis last year and the year before. Clones was not even half full. At least there will b an atmosphere in Ballybofey.

re ticket demand, the game is on tv, and there is no point in putting an extra 4 to 5thousand seats in ballybofey only to b filled once every blue moon. Same across the country. To finish my rant, casement park in belfast will b the biggest waste of tax payers money, gaa money, wherever they get it from. There are dozens of better causes for funds.

Tyrone dont know what it is to the animal that is Donegal at home!! If they cant beat us in Cones they'll have a even harder task to tame us in the 'hostile' envirovent that is Ballybofey on champer day

Ballybofey suits me fine, I'm looking forward to seeing Tyrone knock the
AI champions out of the Ulster championship in their own backyard!
Bring it on.

Proper Order, most counties have only a couple of thousand regular fans anyway. Home team, home venue. Bring on the real acid test, cannot wait. The current champions V the three times champions of the last decade.

Donegal won their first Ulster Championship in 1972 and were drawn at home to Tyrone the following year. In what became known as the battle of Ballybofey Tyrone won by two points and went on to win the 1973 Ulster Championship. I dont think Tyrone have played a championship game in Donegal since so maybe this will be a good omen.

Ballybofey isn't 18,000 anymore. Not even with the work being done over the last few months. Realistically, there is only 2,000 tickets left over.

Not true. I checked today with a man in the know & the GAA website agrees, the capacity is around 18,000. Besides which the work done recently had nothing to do with capacity but with access.

So I ask again where are the other 6,000 tickets going?

Not half as much as it suits us. We have lost out last seven away league games but won our last five home games. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Fear will not be a factor for either side I'm sure!

It'll be a full house but lets be honest, for big opening games Ballbofey is usually there or there abouts anyway. Especially on a bank holiday.

All ticket and orders in through the club I presume?
