Colm o Neil is in my view( as I have constantly told everyone who wants to Listen) the best footballer in Ireland. Good luck to him

Ahhhh come on now !! ..

Before this injury waynoI, he was not too far off Brogan or the Gooch. Brilliant natural footballer who is just as good off his left foot as his right. This injury may set him back big time though. A class act in last years championship.

It sounds pretty serious rebel.og, some would say career threatening. Poor lad, hasn't had the easiest of times, I wish him all the best in his recovery.

Ya brend, three times on the same leg is bound to be fairly serious. It such as shame this could ruin his career, and as many posters here have said, effect him in his life longer down the road.

Very hard to see how he will return the same player after this latest setback.

Desperately sad for him. As a neutral I don't think he's far off being the best forward in the country. Phenomenal player. He scored 1-3 from play v Donegal in last year's semi & had Donegal in trouble all game long. That was an amazing performance given how dominant Donegal were on the day. Did any other forward give them as much trouble last year ??
Anyway,I think we all agree what a huge loss to the game he is. Really hope he gets back. Best of luck Colm

Absolutely gutted for the lad. In my opinion he is one of the best forwards in the country but is bizarrley slightly underated, and never mentioned in the same breath as Cooper, Brogan, Murphy etc. He was the one forward that Donegal couldn't cope with last year due to his intelligent movement and ability off both feet.

As a Donegal man who has been running the rule over other AI contenders this year I have to say this could be a hammer blow for Cork's prospects. As someone alluded to earlier, O'Neill is 1 of their only natural scoring forwards. Maybe if Goulding can get back to full fitness and Sheehan has a good injury free run they can compensate for O'Neill's loss.

Just another thing I wondered, what does O'Neill work at? I hope his latest injury doesn't affect bis bread & butter too much.

Not for me, I dont think so , I think Bernard, Gooch and Murphy (You can probably add Jamie Clarke to that) are a level above the rest.
