Colm O Neill

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

This has not been confirmed yet, but it does look very likely that Colm O Neill has suffered his 3rd cruciate ligament injury of his young career. If this is indeed the case, there will be many GAA fans in Cork heartbroken for the lad.

He is in my view one of the top 5 or 6 forwards in the country. Even yesterday he scored two outstanding points with his left & right foot before being taken off in a stretcher. However one wonders now if he will ever return the same player after this latest setback.

Please god we will see him back in the Rebel jersey in the not too distant future.

My heart goes out to Colm O'Neil. Terrible bad luck to happen a third time. A very talented footballer who will be a loss to Cork football.

A great player whose career has been blighted by serious injury.

I wish him nothing but the best.

It's a serious blow to any outside chance we had of winning SAM this year. We don't have many natural forwards and if Colm is out for the year, I find it very hard to see us putting it up to the likes of Mayo, Dublin, Donegal in Croke Park.

Looked to be flying last night very sad hope for the best for one of most talented forwards in Ireland. Tough on the lad hope for something decent in the scan to get him back.

watched this game on tv last night. Colm was flying and scored two wonderfull points off both feet. he then was out in front of his man chasing a low ball that was played in to him. he seemed to catch his foot in the turf and tumble head over heels twisting his knee in the process. he is my favourite forward in the country at present and I wish him well. such a dreadful shame.

Saw him last year v Donegal , class act. To happen once , bad luck, but three times is shocking. He's probably gone for the season, huge loss for Cork. Hope he recovers soon.
