Disgraceful way of dealing with an issue, 5 months to find there's insufficient evidence, what a load of tripe. And despite the views of some it is not acceptable to just forget it and move on, keep doing that and eventually we could descend into anarchy. Too many offences of a serious nature being left unpunished in my opinion.

redhanddefender, you have a terrible attitude towards this and basically sum up everything that is wrong in the gaa.

Fair enough richieq, but since you're talking about shelf-life, lets consider how 17 years later, we in Tyrone are still awaiting justice for the offenses carried out against Tyrone players in a certain AI semi-final! As you say Richieq, "too many offenses of a serious nature being left unpunished". Lets be consistent and punish them all though, what do you say!

the video clip provides no conclusive evidence of spitting...all we really see is galvin wiping the back of his neck...now it doesn't surprise me at all if the player did spit...but the problem is that this is not conclusive on the video..if the CCCC has no further evidence other than players own views then they cannot act...if cookstown club had anything in them, they would take action...on the other point raised about the spitting incident in omagh, the perpetrator has received a 12 month ban from all gaa activities in tyrone imposed by tyrone county board

I can't believe you are still whining on about that when there was nothing to whine about in the first place. Even Canavan at the time came out and said that his injury was accidental. Around that time Ulster football was rightly seen as the physically toughest in the land, but as soon as Tyrone were out muscled the cry foul play. I couldn't see the Derry, Down Donegal or Armagh going on like this. Only Tyrone.

I am shocked to think that some people in Tyrone are still harping on about the supposed big bad boys from Meath in 1996, have not even the great successes of recent years dimmed that bitterness from your mind, has the triumph through adversity Tyrone achieved not helped you to forget what was in essence a football lesson handed to Tyrone which, by admission, helped them to realise what they needed to do and what levels they had to reach to be successful. You should be thanking us, '96 was a tough hard battle with hits given and received on both sides, I would have thought a county that numbered Ryan McMenamin in its ranks would have appreciated the toughness of inter county football and the rough and tumble that can occur, if you want justice out of Meath then you better hire a damn good brief and offer justice to a few of "Ricey's" victims of years gone by

Still nobody from Tyrone to say that it is not all right for a spectator to spit at a player and escape sanction of any description?
So much for the apologies from Mickey Harte & the Tyrone chairman after the game. Hollow words.

No names then? It's easy to throw a post like that up & its obvious that none of the rest of ye knew a thing about it, so forgive me if I have my doubts. As to the lawnmower-man, what in the name of Jesus are you going on about? Surely to God you are not trying to tell us that the reason Tyrone collapsed like a deck of cards was that the grass was too long?

Ok, lets try this again! If offenses of a serious nature are to be punished as you opine richieq, then all offenses must be punished, even those from 17 years ago! Otherwise your statement above is just bloody hypocrisy!

Paul is not the type of guy to accuse someone of this type of behavior, Sure why would he bother and I think most reasonable Tyrone posters would agree.
The person who did this I'm sure will look back on it when he is finished playing and regret his actions. Personally id be completely ashamed of myself if I ever Sid something like that.
Any it's well over now so roll on the Munster Final
