In ref to Ulsterman. A Cavan player pushes a player to the ground in an intecounty game and gets 1 match ban.

One thing pushing another player compared to pushing an official or slapping books out of their hands; that's a very silly comparison.

it is still questionable as to why the ccc did nothing with the 2 incidents on galvin, when they are doing something about the biting incident? what is their explanation for this?

I agree kerryluck there does seem to be a lot of inconsistency in the way the GAA deals with disciplinary matters. The whole process takes far too long and there should be more information given out. It should take no more than 14 days from start to finish of an allegation. The alleged spitting incident on Galvin and counter arguemnet of sectarian abuse around the matter have dragged on far too long.

It may have looked like an attempted eye gouging by Galvin but this man has a history of fish hooking opponents. He must be brought to task over this. Players have been suffering at the hands of Paul Galvin for too many years now. He needs a long ban because we no longer have old style punishent i.e a good box in the gub which would have stamped this players action out of our game.

found this post from the time galvin got suspended for eye goulging

My post should have read ;A cavan player pushes a refree to the ground, . It was shown on The Sunday
Game a few years back.

So the CCC yesterday finally concluded their "investigation" into this incident! Fair play to them for acting so swiftly ....... It only took them 5 months to conclude that there is a 'lack of evidence'!!!

While we must accept their outcome, despite it being nothing short of ridiculous and a sweep it under the carpet effort why on earth did they take 5 months to come to that conclusion? I dare say if it had been any other player in the country that had been spat on it would have been a very different outcome!!

Still waiting to find out what happened to the class act who spat at Lacey in Omagh. Three months ago I was told by a Tyrone poster here that the investigation was "ongoing". The wheels of justice grind exceedingly slow in the GAA!!

GateKeeper,
Can I take it then that nothing was done & that the individual concerned was sent on his way with a nod & a wink? Sad times in Tyrone if that's the case!!

MuckrossHead these incidents have been occuring for a number of years and continually seem to be brushed under the carpet. There was an excellent point made on the Sunday Game last week that the 'Powers That Be' need to take steps to ensure our game is developed and played in such a way that is fitting to the organisation. Unfortunately continued incidences such as this only continue to push the game further away from its roots ............ its also no surprise teams from certain counties are continually involved in such disgracful incidences ......... but of course never to blame!

Well done on finally realising...........'THIS IS IRELAND'!!!!

It simply astounds me the amount of people in this country that somehow think things will 'be done properly' on this Island!!!! How these people actually survive on Earth every day is a mystery to me!!!

So it's considered ok in Tyrone for a spectator to come up to a player from another county, spit in his face & nothing happens.
I don't believe that & am waiting for someone from Tyrone to tell me it isn't

On a separate note and this is in relation to the disciplinary process in general, did anything come of the crazy events that took place at that Donegal club match a few weeks ago? I think at least one player was hospitalised, there was a kick to the head etc. it seems that the whole disciplinary process is a farce from top to bottom. Everything gets swept under the carpet and I'm convinced that the delays are deliberate to let the fuss die down and in the hope that by the time the inevitable 'insufficient evidence' verdict is announced that people will have forgotten about the incident anyway.

Redhanddefender ....... Thats the problem you see my boy, IT HAS NOT BEEN DEALT WITH AT ALL! Which means young fella's now playing for Fr Rocks or the like and see their idols getting away with such behaviour and therefore think it is ok to do so themselves!!
