Too many cameras at Tyrone games Brolly, thats what comes of being among the elite football counties, all that exposure. Probably explains why this sort of thing never gets highlighted as much in Monaghan! brendtheredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 10897 - 11/03/2013 19:52:55 1347556 Link 0 |

While Mr Mulligan is undoubtedly a man of his word (character references need not apply) it is unfortunate that he seems to try and justify this act of cowardness via exposing verbals which carry on during every game. Its unfortunate he fails to mention the verbals that he has handed out on more than one occasions with a political inuendo as well! Owen Mulligan should be ashamed of that response. I can't believe he has said that he completely backs his clubmate on this incident. Irrespective of what else has happened how can he back his clubmate for spitting?? There is also no alleged incident here Owen as it can be seen on video however what you have said regarding verbal abuse is alleged. I think Owen Mulligan's response tells us as much as we need to know about what Tyrone's response to the "supporter" who spat at Karl Lacey will be. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5028 - 12/03/2013 10:10:03 1347758 Link 0 |
if paul galvin had done it to one of his club mate, mulligan would be up in arms about it kerryluck (Kerry) - Posts: 2517 - 12/03/2013 10:15:44 1347765 Link 0 |

I have to say that im shocked at Owen Mulligans statement. I can understand him backing hes club to the hilt, that i have no problem with as we would all do the same. In my opinion Owen has let himself down by saying what happens on the field stays on the field. How he can defend Mr Quinn is beyond belief really. The spitting incident is clear as day. Paul Galvin could have made a big deal out of the incident but didn't so for a change hes come out of it pretty well in my opinion. The media will have a field day now with this. I would suggest closing this thread as we all know that it will turn nasty. kerry74 (Kerry) - Posts: 1354 - 12/03/2013 10:33:49 1347784 Link 0 |
Footballers should stick to playing football, leave the politics to the politicians. cacsmckilly (Tyrone) - Posts: 1294 - 12/03/2013 10:46:55 1347794 Link 0 |
Haven't posted on this site in a very long time but felt I need to comment on this. Spitting is an absolutely disgusting act and has no place on a football field or anywhere else for that matter. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there were things said about an ex Tyrone legend during the game itself and that is as low sa one can get. However how Owen Milligan can defend his club mate spitting in another player is beyond me theres noway he can justify this act. At the end of the day I've been following Tyrone most of my life when I was living in Ireland up until the start of 2010 I never missed a game but too see our name being dragged through the mud firstly by the stupid so called fan who spat on lacey and now by some cookstown player makes me very very angry and I just hope the county board will take the appropriate course of action. duke_raul (Tyrone) - Posts: 993 - 12/03/2013 10:49:31 1347797 Link 0 |
Great pic of Ryan Mc and Marc O'Se. Two angry men but two very committed men. Ryan Mc is obviously not spitting at O'Se - he's just very mad. pdempsey (Mayo) - Posts: 1313 - 12/03/2013 10:53:56 1347804 Link 0 |
The genuine Tyrone supporters are suffering as a few clowns are letting them down very badly. I fear the final league in Omagh could now be a tough game to referee. It would be better also if the game was not televised as it might dampen the possible hyped up media attention. kerry74 (Kerry) - Posts: 1354 - 12/03/2013 10:58:49 1347808 Link 0 |
The only thing lower than spitting is someone who publicly backs the idea robopaddy (Waterford) - Posts: 81 - 12/03/2013 10:59:46 1347809 Link 0 |
Mulligan is some tulip in my opinion. Kerry lads are trying to "downgrade" his club mate. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6347 - 12/03/2013 11:02:58 1347812 Link 0 |

Regardless of what county or club is involved, all GAA supporters and players are being dragged through the mud on these spitting incidents. Its more bad PR for our organisation. Makes me sad people trying to justify these actions. As an earlier poster said, come down on them like a ton of bricks. Come down fast, named and shamed very publicly so that the rest of society know who these people are and we might start eradicating these unsavoury incidents from our games that seem to be getting more and more commonplace. Less lip service from from the top brass would be a start. They were elected to lead. About time they started. Bain (Donegal) - Posts: 470 - 12/03/2013 12:45:06 1347926 Link 0 |
