Will the two superpowers of the GAA get relegated?

They will just rename division 2 to division 1...

So its a bad thing if Mayo and Kerry get relegated? What gives them the right to be in the top division if their not able to compete. That's one of the silliest comments I've heard for a while

I agree with you 100%. I think some teams spend so long in the top flight, they forget that it's not a god given right to be there.

With Kerry looking very likely at this stage to be relegated, It's plausible that with Mayo's run in against Cork, Donegal and Kildare that they could maybe lose 2 or 3 games. Down still have Kerry, Dublin, Kildare still to play, and I could see them beat Kerry and/or Kildare.

It'll be a soft national league title for whoever wins it as the two Superpowers are obviously opting out of the competition this year.

I was sure when I read the title GAA Superpowers it was going to be about Kerry and Kilkenny. Even Dublin and Donegal can't be considered Superpowers until they put a few All Irelands in close succession together.

Who would be the GAA superpowers lads? If u were picking 3 from each code?
In football I spose ure looking at Kerry, Dublin and Cork or Meath, I spose with recent history incl u would plump for Cork there?
Hurling, I would say Kilkenny, Cork and Tipp?
Would Tyrone qualify as a super power in football lads?
What about Galway in hurling?

Oh Paddy....you really know how to cheer us up on a Monday morning. I would say there is no superpower county in the GAA unless Kerry and Kilkenny have acquired nuclear weapons and an air force :p

Kerry and Dublin are the two most successful footballing counties in Ireland, therefore could certainly be defined as superpowers, in terms of the GAA world.

"2 superpowers of GAA"

I thought you meant Kerry footballers & Kilkenny hurlers, both winless.

Kerry will do amazingly well to avoid the drop

Tomas / Marc O'Se more than likely missing from their next day out

Mayo are the best team I've seen Dublin face this year.. Mayo will def stay up.

You are probably right in that Mayo have given the best performance against Dublin but they ended up with the same amount of league points as Cork, Kerry and Kildare who all received trimmings from ye. They are a good team but I am not sure they are safe. I fancy them to be relegated along with Down. We are not out of the woods either but with two home games left I think we will survive.

I seriously doubt that the GAA will let the two teams slide to Division 2 given our status and the fact that the weaker counties look up to us, wait for the revamp of the National Leagues and when it happens remember this, you heard it off Paddy first.

Ha ha ha. Funniest thing I've read in a long time. You're some man for one man Paddy!!!!

Its league football at the end of the day it means very little come September. If Kerry took the drop it would benifit them, give them a chance to play unfamilar faces eg Louth, Derry, Wexford and also rebuild from scratch.

As for this thread the likes of Kerry, Dublin, Cork, Meath and Tyrone are the superpowers in Gaa. Even when they are at their worst teams don't like playing them cause you can never write them off. Mayo on the other hand....
