why you trying to have a go at him and dublin supporters claiming we are coming out behind bar stool, what knowledge have you actually got my friend!!! there was 55 thousand at both kildare and meath matches and 70 thousand at cork match so your making no sense.
as for your obsession on what day the match offcialy sells out is sad man, theres under 400 tickets on ticketmaster and only a handfull of nally terrace on gaa.ie so i dont get where your going with this

You are like the ormo of dublin gaa. I was merely pointing out fact to him which you can't disagree with. The semi isn't selling out because you are playing kerry and that's fact.

I'm not having a go at the dubs. It's a well known fact that a lot of fans are jumping on the bandwagon now. Any other county it's now different. Nothing I've said you can deny. As for my "obsession" with when it sells out, you don't see me saying you're obsessed with GAA attendances in general which you are.

well the kerry guy is technically right.
we played meath, kildare and cork this year yet none of them countys brought the same billing as dublin v kerry in fact your own county brought less numbers for the dublin match then they did for the leinster semi final so much was there interest.
you are having a snide remark saying coming out from barstools.i dont drink i go to the hill what does that make me then in your eyes?
you are obsessed with a day ,all i said was it will sell out as it was all over the papers saying it will, whats wrong with that.
im not obsessed with gaa attendances,i kee an eye on them as they are interesting thats all,if dublin beat kerry in front of me and two others i will be just as happy.

It said in today's indo that they're expecting 70k tomorrow. That's some attendance for a semi-final if they're right

yeah be a great crowd, they have the blue covers off the first 3 rows in the lower decks today maybe they will remove the screen from hill 16 next haha

First of all great attendance this weekend the vast majority of whom were from Mayo.

well the kerry guy is technically right.

He is not right if you played Meath/Cork.Kildare or many others in the All-Ireland semi it would also sell out so to say no other county has that pulling power is a joke. Plus Meath/Kildare/Donegal/Mayo etc would bring an awful lot more than Kerry so demand would be even higher. So please don't use attendances from double headers in earlier rounds because the only thing you need to compare to is the past all ireland semi's Dublin have been in and you know it.

As for my own county we brought more to the final than we did to the semi and that's a fact. The finals attendance and the semi's attendance were terrible but what do you expect in a province where Dublin have won 8 out of the last 9. It's like expecting big numbers to turn up for Kilkenny hurling matches in Leinster pre Galway/Dublin's break through.

you are having a snide remark saying coming out from barstools.i dont drink i go to the hill what does that make me then in your eyes?
That was not a snide remark. It applies to every county including my own. You get wound up too easily if that annoyed you. It's just so much more apparent with Dublin because the bandwagon is bigger for obvious reasons.

you are obsessed with a day ,all i said was it will sell out as it was all over the papers saying it will, whats wrong with that.

I am not obsessed with a day I was making a point that the GAA want the media to say it's going to sell out soon so more people rush out and get their tickets. It's good PR. The fact is about 3 days after they initially said it would sell out it still hasn't and might not until tomorrow or the next day. My point is valid as you can see. Just incase you didn't already get it, I never disagreed with you that it wouldn't sell out a good bit before the match.

You know very little about the GAA my Kerry friend.

I will politely disagree my Meath "friend".

Oh and it's not just Semi Finals that Kerry v Dublin sells out: 2001 - Thurles packed out both days for a Quarter Final, 2009 - Quarter Final sell out again on a Monday!

A Kerry v Dublin knock-out Championship game beats all others I'm afraid when it comes to pulling power and top-billing.

You should do a tad bit of research before you post. In 2009 the Leinster first round match between Dublin and Meath sold out. Mayo and Tyrone had 65k at their semi so it's not really anything special that Dublin are getting about 16k more with the population they have.

Research on what? Did I mention Meath in my post? Correct me if I'm wrong but Meath v Dublin didn't sell out this year .....

Correct me if I'm wrong but if Meath was playing Dublin in the semi instead of kerry it would have sold out sooner and even sooner still if it was Mayo/Donegal and a few other counties instead of Meath. Not saying Meath Dublin gets the biggest demand but Kerry Dublin most certainly doesn't mainly due to Kerry's lack of support.

come on man why so bitter?
it is by far the biggest gaa crowd puller dublin v kerry.
dublin v meath this year was 95 % dublin supporters, meath brought around 7 thousand supporters they brought 10 thousand to the semi final, the lack of belief in meath dropped their crowd,as your supporters were fearing a hammering.
oh and its officaly sold out now so you should be pleased.

Meath brought 7k? Hill16 that's a new low for you there was 15k there minimum. That is completely beside the fact. If Meath were going well and reached the all ireland semi v dublin it would be sold out in a week. And if Mayo had of clashed with Dublin this year it would be sold out in a day. Kerry v Dublin is not the biggest crowd puller. As for your bitter comment I won't be dragged into a childish battle of insults with you.

Best of luck on Sunday.

Well with the year over what do we all make of the attendances over the year and with the World Cup on next year will the GAA fair aswell?

well up on last year all across the board.
league was up and all provincial and all aireland series games were up.
so was good year one would have to say.
world cup wont make much of a dent into attendances next summer as ireland wont be in it anyway.
the fact we are coming out of recession was proven this year and should only be a good thing for next year
but always depends on the pairings of matches that determines the crowds
