I am not sure they would Hill16No1man. There was only 3,000 when the counties met for an All-Ireland final (u21) earlier this year. Add in the fact that both counties' hurlers are playing the next day and people and people chose to travel to one game or the other then you can be sure it will be the hurlers (in Cork's case anyway). Also, I have not looked at the fistures yet but you can be sure that there will be a load of club championship or club league games in Cork next Saturday night. The fact is besides trips to Killarney or Dublin for a final or semi-final, Cork football 'supporters' are just not interested.

Great crowd today and way quarter finals are likely to fall there will be close to sell outs for football and big crowds for all of the remaining hurling. People will pay when there is likely to be quality and there will be from two weeks time. Great year.

Feel it was nonsense deciding 2 round 4 qualifiers venues and times before round 3 was even played... Braindead.

21,274 in Castlebar. That's not bad at all

Was at it TBH i thought there was more at the last game (Mayo v Ros). False number i wonder?

Considering it was v London, the turn out in Castlebar was impressive, I know a lot of people had been suggesting there would only be 12/13,000 at it

Yeah there would have been only 12 or 13 thousand so they reduced the ticket prices

It's madness playing Cork v Galway in Croker,Limerick would be a far more sensible venue and would bring a bigger crowd.

To be honest i would play all round 4 games outside of Croker

Donegal v Laois, Hyde
London v Cavan, Navan
Meath v Tyrone, Breffini

All these grounds would provide a brilliant championship atmosphere which gets lost in Croker,Plus the local towns get a big boost,And it would be more convenient for supporters travelling

its too late shea.

2 of the 4 qualifier games have already been fixed for Croker

I reckon Londons game with Cavan will be fixed for there too.

just looking at the ticket prices for the Mayo v Roscommon and London games and ticket prices appear to be the same for both, 25 for stand 20 for terrace.
From anyone at the game just wondering how many they think London had supporting?

Yeah but the final always sees an increase in price whereas they knew they wouldn't get the crowd so decided to reduce

I paid 20 euro for Connacht tickets for the last number of years the reduced stand prices seemed to draw the crowd or maybe the weather. I'd say London had around 5k at it we had around 2-3k i doubt if 21k was right nobody was behind either goals and the stand wasn't full.

Scoreboard end was pretty full buddy, the stand was well populated (not full) too and the far sideline was wedged. There was even a few headers down the Albany end which is always empty!

No false number here Ispeakwisdom, definitely more there yesterday than the Ros game. You could see few times on the sunday game last night how full the scoreboard end was.

Would this Kilkenny Cork match alone not attracted over 35,000 in thurles a few years back?

The Cork Kilkenny league final only brought around 15k last year and we were highly optimistic in Cork back then, JBM was back, a few gems had been unearthed in the league, Lehane was flying, Sean Og was back and we had beaten the Cats down the pairc a few weeks earlier. The recent U21 hammering and fairly tame surrender in the senior final all be it with mitigating circumstances. I don't think there will be a huge Cork crowd this time, as I said moral is a bit flat. If we do pull off a shock the masses will be back in force! Kilkenny don't seem to bringing more than 5k and Clare had a tiny crowd at their game with Wexford. Don't know what Galway will bring but I'd expect around 20k.

Make you wonder whats the point of having those games in Croke park if such a small crowd?
