They are e-mailed out. Only one man is committed to dealing with this and it couldnt be easy for him so we do not need to b complaining at this stage he did a great job last year and has been very informative so far this year

all clubs should sign up to twitter and tweet the results to Down Ladies twitter

many hands make light work

clubs need to be proactive as many take those who do voluntary roles within county set up for granted

Duff says 'Clonduff will take care of Mayobridge. Mayobridge are a junior team playing out of their depth - they dont seem to take ladies football seriously'.
Mayobridge have some excellent players and I am pretty sure they take football seriously along with all the other teams. I have watched them in some pre season matches and they can provide a tought test for any team they play. Clonduff v Mayobridge was called off, however the bridge play Kilcoo tomorrow which should be a very interesting game! Both teams are physically strong and determined. This should be a tight one.

The clubs don't even need to post results on twitter, even if a player wanted to, on behalf of the team, i think that's a very good idea.

Surprising ersults at the weekend with Annaclone beating Bredagh by so much. the Belles must have taken a serious fall from grace. Carryduff did as i expected them to do by beating the ford. this was a very competitive game and Carryduff will take some beating this season.
Burren have yet to get their campaign off the ground so its hard to tell what they will offer.
Mayobridge gave a good account of themselves by all reports i have heard and were unlucky not to win the game.
why would no referee show for a game in this day and age. That is still a very sore point in ladies football - but surely they could have played the game if someone had volunteered their services. Its a pity if both teams are there and referee dont show though.
Why was Clonduffs game of again? Will they play this season?

The only thing not surprising Singer is the amount of games that were not played. If matches keep changing and be put off at the rate they are then its going to be a nightmare for the secretary to keep up with games and for refs to be appointed and for media to be kept up to date and the promotion of the game is diluted. I don't know precisely but it must be about 40% of games in first two rounds that have not been played. The longer this continues, the less continuity, the more fed up and frustrated the players, managers and the supporters become and the whole league process is weakened. Catch yourselves on and play the games weakened or not and try to play the games unless its something serious, bloody nail is broke and some matches are off.

Why are the games being called off... Ok can accept the the camogie thing from the first night for some clubs - but why are the other games off??? I totally agree that games should not be called off. there are bound to be 15 girls who can fulfill the fixtures - the problem is they get away with it. Games not played for whats a non reason the team should forfeit the points - simple. thats the only way teams will field - just to avoid losing the points...

Have to say - i totally agree with the above comments about games being called off for poor reasons. Its a disgrace and there are girls sitting at home who get frustrated with non playing time and walk from the sport. its simply not good enough that people call the games for poor reasons like hen parties etc. If there is hen party this weekend they should have the game played before the date - fri night or thurs or that. then that weeks game is fulfilled and sorted. but a hen party prob uses two to five girls - most teams can cope with their loss if not then play that game 13 aside but no fewer - if they wanted to play football badly enough they would have their hen party out of season and be available for all games...

Totally agree about teams calling off games!! It is so irritating when a team is all geared up for a game only for the other team to ring the night before or the day of the game to call it off!! I also agree with someone elses post that nothing is done about it so teams know that they can get away with it...why do county board not start imposing fines so that its not as easy just to call the game off (only a suggestion) I also feel that if teams cant even field at the beginning of the season then why enter a team in the league at all....all it does is p*ss other teams off when they cannot field continually throughout the season...and play on dates which have been allocated to them!!

Ladies football in Down has been on a slippery slide for years. Its now coming to a head. The County board need to throw serious resources into grassroots level and rebuild. Start promoting the game properly. Get new blood involved.

On another note my Carryduff are the team to beat this year. They just keep producing good young players and by the bucket load. The right structures/management certainly pay off. They could dominate ladies football in Down for a while. Fair play to them.

Yess the Duff are certainly in fine form this season and i honestly think they will be the team to beat. On another note - Clonduff got their season off to a flyer last night in the intermediate league. They will be the team to beat at this level for sure and gave a great display last night at times. Teconnaught were good but looked out of their depth. Clonduff have players to come back from injury and will then take off for sure.

Its good to have Clonduff back to winning ways - down ladies football needs a strong Clonduff challenge year in year out. hopefully they bed down now and push on in that league..

Burren were playing Castlewellan last night in senior league - any result from that game from anyone please??
