I heard something about Down had actually won the game by a point but the ref had the incorrect score down and firstly had down losing by a point only to be corrected by the linesman and then the game was called a draw? Anyone know anything about this?

I didnt hear that guvnor... must have been a weekend of mistakes by the officials with conor laverty getting similar treatment. but that would not be good enough if it did happen.
The club scene - all i have heard is that Burren are absolutely flying and ready for the assault on the senior league this year. Castlewellan are going good with some of their successful u16s expected to cut their teeth in the senior league this year. Downpatrick are struggling for numbers though which is not a good sign.
Clonduff are working very hard and will surely be favourites for the Intermediate league and championship this year. Kilcoo will be there or thereabouts though. And Bosco are flying and with Michaela and Aveen back on baord will walk the junior league this year.

That would be unforgivable if a ref did that!

Yes I have heard this about Burren... Though i have yet to see them in action so will stay clear of comments until then. Im sure Bryansford and Annaclone will have alot to say about their assault on the senior league. Woukld love to see more competition up there. Downpatrick struggling? anything to do with bright re-forming? Castlewellan have been clinging on this past few years and some fresh young talent is just what they need! Anyword on the belfast teams?

Ive heard Ballymartin and clonduff are the high flyers looking success in intermediate with the lilywhites looking very dangerous in challenge games against good opposition. Clonduff are said to have enduced a few of the old guard back to their squad and alot of young players. Both teams new managment too, sean ohare took Ballymartin out a few months ago, is he still with them? Kilcoo are always there abouts in intermediate but i think thats all they are and cant see rostrevor reaching any heights like last year now they are in senior championship. Are mayobridge playing this year or being very quiet? can Teconnaught handle the step up?

Tullylish for junior league...enough said in my opinion

Sounds like you were done, get down camogie board on the case, they overturned a refs decision after a match ended, a championship final too at that, in there eyes ref DOES NOT HAVE final say. they do. Good luck with it

Dont think Ballymartin will win much to be honest. They always flatter to deceive especially in the early parts of the season and then fade away when the going gets tough.
Why do you think Tullylish will be relegated though?? I would be surprised if this happened.
Glad the ladies got their points awarded as i heard it was farsical the way they lost the points the other day. Referees get a lot of abuse and criticism at times but need to do this simple job correctly of keeping the score.

Tullylish are in Junior league. i am saying they will win it handy enough as they are good enough to be mid intermediate league

Tullylish finihsed above Loughinisland last year so therefore they are in intermediate this year. Unless two teams were demoted???

Teconnaught were promoted no?

Yes teconnaught were promoted. Tullylish were in intermediate last season and finished second from bottom so therefore they stay in intermediate. full intermediate league is:

Shamrocks
Kilcoo
Rostrevor
Teconnaught
Tullylish
Clonduff
Mayobridge
Ballymartin

Thanks for the update, thats a very competitive looking league

Competitive alright but the way its printed below just might be the way it ends up. Think teams will push on this year for sure. Rostrevor won the championship at a canter last year and should be way too strong for other teams in the league. Shamrocks if they can get their act together could be very strong. Kilcoo are always there or thereabouts so might just surprise them. Clonduff might need a year to regenerate themselves after the loss of a few girls but should be strong enough for the top four. Think teconnaught could actually stay in the division - they sould beat Ballymartin the two games and that will be enough to survive. The Mourne outfit are so inconsistent that i feel if they were relegated to junior and worked with their underage a bit more they could compete in junior without problem. Intermediate is step too much for them though at present.

Rostrevor
Shamrocks
Kilcoo
Clonduff
Mayobridge
Tullylish
Teconnaught
Ballymartin

How do you think it will fare out this year???

Have to disagree im afraid;

i think the top 4 in this is too tough to call, Rostrevor had their year last year and i dont see them coming close to the same heights again with maybe a 4th place finish. Kilcoo will havwe their usual year of every game being a tight affair it just depends what way the come out of these games. Ballymartin will be a different kettle of fish this year i think, they have a pacey squad and if they keep it together they will do well. Not sure about clonduff, you say theyve lost players though i hear they have gained some of their players who took a break last year; could be a dangeous outfit but the last year or two have been disapointing for previous senior Rostrevor. Shamrocks looked good last year and will b hard to stop though I predict a strong start and a poor finish to their campaign. I see mayobridge going down myself

Ballymartin
Kilcoo/Clonduff
Shamrocks
Tullylish
Teconnaught
Mayobridge

TheKingdomgael - i really dont see where you are getting your confidence in Ballymartin from. But maybe you know something we dont as your from that part of the world. I honestly dont think Mayobridge will be relegated as they have too much in their team for some of the opposition they will play. But time will tell. Super performance and scoreline from the county senior ladies yesterday. they showed true class and their finishing was top drawer. Last time they played Sligo they were lucky to come away with the result in the same venue - this was more like it from the ladies. Hope this is the start of super results to come. Next up is Armagh and it would be sweet to get one over the oul enemy.

Oh my god the senior ladies last night were poor in my opinion. they had no answers to a fitter, stronger and better footballing team in Armagh. I hope this dont set them back too much. They look certain to qualify for the semi finals at least - but on this showing - they could certainly do with training harder or something. Last week they blew Sligo off the pitch - but then this. I just wonder where the county ladies are going sometimes. Armagh have competed in and won a couple of "B" Ulster championships - but on this showing they looked streets ahead of us. Maybe we should compete in "B" or "C" compettitions at underage so we can mould girls into successful players.

Senior championship draw has thrown up some interesting ties.
Burren get a chance to avenge last years defeat at the hands of Rostrevor in the opening round and im sure the ladies in white will prevail with something to spare. the winners meeting probably Bredagh - championship over for them. Tie of the round is def Carryduff v B'Ford with the winners meeting Castlewellan. I would think whoever comes out of this trio will win the whole championship. Carryduff have been training hard for this senior championship since before christmas and have been playing in and winning a lot of friendly games of late. Its hard to see past them especially with B'Ford losing a few players and management changing.
Intermediate is formality. tie of the round here is Kilcoo v Clonduff. Winners of the whole competition wil probably come from this tie. Shamrocks should beat Tullylish and M'Bridge should have too much for Teconnaught. Carryduff will account for Ballymartin with ease.
I expect Loughinisland to be too strong in the junior section with perhaps Saul being their hardest opponents.
Leagues start in week and half. Its all getting exciting now in the lead up to them.
Predictions to follow next week as to where i see the first set of points going in each game.

County play a massive game this weekend. Lets hope they can do themselves justice and qualify for the semi finals of this league. Plenty of tough sessions have been completed since the Armagh game i would expect - so they should be well equiped for the challenge ahead.

Your put downs of Ballymartin are very funny and Ironic singer.

With leagues almost set to go Im looking forward to watching an interesting year ahead with Senior and intermediate just to close to call between 3 or 4 teams in each

Who do you feel are in with a shout for the senior and intermediate titles???

Another defeat for the county at the weekend which is disappointing. They should qualify for the semi finals and wil prob play Westmeath again in that game. Its going to be difficult to get out of this division...
