What happened to our ladys yesterday??? That was a comprehensive beating they took at the hands of a team that wouldnt be known as a strong hold in ladies football....

Well after seeing the team that lined out im not surprised they were beat... I see its same old tricks for down ladies - turn up when it suits and depending on who ya are - you will be straight onto the team..... Disgrace imo. Sort out a panel and work with the best 25 - 30 girls in the county and develop a team that will get promoted. this is not an easy league by any means - but if we continue to put girls off playing for the county because of selection of others - we are going nowhere - fast.

Managment needs to have the backbone to bench girls who just turn up when it suits. Then they will know they have to train. In my club its simple, dont train...dont play no matter who you are. Girls dont be long standing on the pitch waiting for training to start when they get embarressed sitting on the sidelines.

Speaking of club.....whats the word aroun the county...how are things developing? any stories to tell?

Singer - are you EVER going to anything that could any way considered positive?????? you constantly slag off girls over their performances. There are young footballers, many still studying or struggling to hold down jobs etc and all you can do is run them down - every post!!

Here is what I suggest you do -
1. make your self available for the next county training session - and tell the management you will take it
2. Contact the management of Bryanford, Bredagh, Burren, Annaclone, Castlewellan etc and tell them you would like to meet with them to give them YOUR full training program
3. Tell us how many medals/championships you have won as a player and/or a manager

Only then will you gain any credibility

Why would i have a go at the camogs - they are in their own situation - ladies footballers is what concerns me.....

Yeah one training session - but few trials and few challenge games including the Dowd Cup. I am entitled to put my opinion on this board bannside - at no stage did i say i would take training sessions... and is that all we base management on nowadays - how many medals you win???? I think there should be a few p45s handed out in that case..... My suggestion is firstly to train - with a committed group of players - a panel of say 25 to 30 girls who can say - im a county footballer..... we have too many comings and goings in the panel and she is training with her club tonight instead of the county and she isnt training because of bla bla bla i would only play those who train on a consistent basis... Sorry if im being too "negative" for people on here with what im saying - but its the truth... It wouldnt happen at county mens level - so why should it happen at womens.....

Singer - you seem to take criticism badly - strange since you are quick to deal it out.

you are entitled to put your opinion howeveri feel you need to have some credibility to back it up. Indeed managers are judged on medals and titles - you need to have something to back up your CV.

Have you ever played county football, have you ever managed?? - do you really understand the commitment that people are asked to put in these days. Do you have a working understanding of modern gaelic football??
If you can answer yes to these questions than you have a more solid base on which to build your arguements - if not then your opinions carry little weight.

Singer - you keep talking about girls walking onto the team who havent trained. who are these girls? im serious here, i would like you to name these individuals who are just turning up for matches. you havent a clue whats going on within the set-up at the moment and you should stop spouting tripe or give us the names or those girls not training.

by the way good win for the girls yesterday.

Well done to the ladies yesterday - a real gritty performance but thats what it takes to win games like these. Now for the next game...

Bannside - so your saying unless you have a plethora of medals from your playing career you wont cut it at management?? Dont think so.

Singer - all I am asking is for you to give some credibilty to constant critism of players and management. If you have any success stories of your own please share them. but you cant keep saying do this or do that unless you can give examples of where it has worked from you own personnal experience.
As I said before if you feel you can offer any assistance contact some of the management around the county and show them how you would do it.

Arrival - im not gonna put names of people on this sheet sayin they are not training etc - that wouldn be very fair. If you know anything about ladies football in the county then you know rightly who im talking about. If not then stay off the board.

Bannside - there are people who write into the irish news every thursday with their "opinions" about certain things about the previous fixture weekend - are they all laden with medals and experts?? i Doubt it. On this board - you are entitled to your opinion - and i am expressing it. Whether i have 5 county titles as a player or manager is on little relevance.

well Singer that's very funny cause if we look through all the other tripe you've posted on this board you've never been shy about naming names....fact is you dont know. you deal in hear-say and scaremongering

Good one. I name names when im disappointed about performances or who management are etc. But at the min there are few enough girls around the panel who are willing to make the commitment necesary for the good of down football. I will not be drawn to name names and be accused of driving girls away form the county scene when we need them.

Another great result for the ladies on sunday. They are starting to show their true worth in the league now and surely with couple more results we should cement our place in the playoff positions of the division and gain promotion. Keep it up girls...

Disappointed with the result on Sunday past. Thought Roscommon were there for the taking as they have been cannon fodder for all other teams thus far in the league. But the team are scoring reasonably well at present which is important. Is there semi finals in division 3 or just top two qualify for the final?
