Can anyone give the actual reason they were sacked in the first place?

Soprano - at last something resembling common sense on this board!!! We have GOT to put this behind us. Again nothing but rumours are fueling the debate, ideally we need some kind of statement from the current/past county board to let us mere mortals know what the hell is going on!!! We are all entitled to our opinions on the debacle, but they have to be taken with a pinch of salt as everyone seems to have heard a different story.

Genuinely sorry KeepItClean I did not mean to upset you. At the risk of sounding Pompous, yes I do know what it means and oh dear at the risk of sounding pompous yet again was only trying to help you as your arguments seem more anger fueled than factual. Oh by the way - using the word pompous is actually kinda POMPOUS. Sorry everyone else I will not post anymore as this subject should already put to bed. Have a lovely evening.

singer - I think your story is a little fanciful. The Down Senior Ladies trained last night and the Down Ladies Minor Ladies trained also (Tuesday). As far as I know no Club in Down has cancelled their training or is any doubt that there is no threat to ladies' football in the County, matches or otherwise. No-one has supported your story here and I haven't heard from any other source of your plight. Why don't you ring your 'friends' on the ex-exec comm - they could give you the exact position and lower your apparent high blood pressure at the same time. Or even better, why don't you stand (or re-stand) for election when the opportunity next arises?

Singer - the Minor Ladies first Championship match is on Saturday and your apology is noted. It would appear that only a few of the Committee have resigned anyway. Oh and don't forget the only people who are putting Ladies Football in any jeopardy or doubt in your mind are the actions and position of the Exec Committee.

Cant understand how a thread on "ladies football" has ever reached 46 pages. Its a contradiction in terms from the point of view of both words. You folk haven't enough to do.

Due to the resignation of all members of the executive committee of the Down County Board, an EGM will be held on Monday 21 March in St.John Bosco Social Club Newry at 8pm, to fill the vacant positions.

Life goes on.

Recieved yesterday and attached to e-mail sent to all clubs today - why outline a different story to the press? You decide who is wrecking Down football

Hugh Devenney (Ulster President) is happy to chair the Extraordinary General Meeting for Down and we will also send a representative from national level.

You, as Secretary need to send email/letter to all clubs informing them that "Due to the resignation of several members of the executive committee of the Down County Board, an EGM will be held on ……. in …….at….., to fill the following vacant positions." List all vacant positions and ask for nominations to be returned a week later.

All club and county teams are covered to train and play under the Injury Fund once they are registered.

All competitions continue as normal.

The two existing officers continue the work of the executive committee until the EGM.

It wont be long before everyone figures out what is going on keepitclean -your chosen name is ironic btw - You ex committee members are spreading lies, trying to generate a panic and making it as difficult as possible to keep things going. Your not very good at covering your tracks either - Croke Park found you out and the rest of country is also quickley realising what you are capable of and how far you are prepared to go. It may take some a little while longer but your on borrowed time.

Chill out........
UlsterLadiesGaelic website have a posting stating that:
Mary Keegan, Ulster Secretary has confirmed that, contrary to reports that appeared in the Irish News today, all football competitions in Down are carrying on as normal. The Down County teams will be fulfilling upcoming fixtures.

On top of that, as posted earlier, the correspondence sent out to all the clubs today is that only 2 members of the Executive Committee did not resign, they are holding the fort until the Executive General Meeting & the resigned positions can be filled.
Fresh start & an end to the bad feeling hopefully.

Another excellent result for the senior ladies yesterday - well done to all concerned. This management team certainly seem to be getting the best out of the girls and they are happy with the training etc.

i have played for armagh up until minor level, but would be looking to go on to bigger and better things. down here in belfast for work and i hear bredagh belles are very good. i was voted ladies player of the year 2009 for by armagh delegates so i would consider myself to be quite good. where and when to bredagh train?
i do have specific dietary requirements and it would be beneficial, but not necessary, to join a club where food is provided due to my lack of money

God7 after 308 post where you have been talking about Down/Carryduff/Bredagh football/hurling/ladies football you now spin a yarn about wanting to play ladies football. Either go back to your crayons or stop wasting time.

Great win by Down Ladies Minors 7-14 to 8 against Monaghan. All they have been through and to be topping the table is surprising! Winning by such a margin is a great fillip for the coaches and the squad,
