I think this thread is becoming really ridiculous and people should stop the bickering and get on with playing football and enjoying it. No matter what teams wins a league or championship some other club is always going to have a gripe against them and its just jealously. Every team at some time or other has their day, now its Bredagh, before it was Clonduff, and before that it was Castlewellan, and Bosco dominated for years and so on. Players and club officials should put more effort into ensuring their day comes sooner rather than later by working with the talent within their club and bringing it through to a successful senior team rahter than trying to complain about other clubs dominance.
On another note it is sad to see how the senior county team has been relegated this year but there is some light on the horizon with a promising minor squad coming through and hopefully they can be successful this year and carry that on through on to the senior ranks.
We are now into the time of year with the bright evenings and football fields are full of young and not so young gaels out enjoying all of our games and lets ensure that ladies football is always talked about and played in a positive way and hopefully this year will see some exciting and entertaining matches.

I agree with what gaaforall is saying about the county set up. I think the minor managers at some point should be given a crack at the senior job. What does everyone else think?

I think everyone needs to get off their high horse about bredagh. There is no club out there that would turn down a footballer if they came to live near the club and wanted to transfer.

This wasn't a big issue 2 or 3 years ago when hilltown were winning the championship and if i'm right i believe that bredagh have been transfering in and out for the last 10 years, so it just proves that this is jealousy on behalf of some people in other clubs.

I'm from south down and would love it if someone moved to our area that could improve our team, so can people get of bredagh's back and focus on how we can stop them on the football field and not by rules that bredagh simply aren't breaking.

Oustanding performance by the minors in Monaghan yesterday. Leading comfortably at half-time, hit with a goal immediately on the restart, shortly followed by two bizarre yellow cards which left thme 2 players down for ten minutes. Thye showed great heart and the managemnet showed great tactical awareness to keep Monaghan at bay during this time and run out comfortable winners in the end, despite two late deflected goals.
It looks like Donegal in the Ulster final; they will be huge favourites and a serious challenge.

The bulk of the minors seem to have been together from under 14 level with the same management team taking them at each level. Quite a few senior managers must have come and gone in those 5 years ? I think they are ideal for the senior job but unlikley to want it for a while yet , most of this minor team are under age again next year and their respect for and belief in those girls is plain to see.

I just heard the County Minors play Donegal in Truagh Co Monaghan on Saturday at 3pm in The Ulster Final - Our girls may be underdogs, but having seen them against Tyrone last month i would not be at all surprised if they upset the odds. If your a fan of fast flowing football make the trip they are amazing to watch and by all accounts Donegal play the same style of football. Good luck girls

Clonduff are like every other club at the moment struggling to get teams out with the influences of work, study, exams, camogie, soccer and of course keeping the county team supplied with players, until injured of course and then they can just get another player. Clonduffs big problem is dual players and as they are relatively new in footballing terms they haven't got alot of older girls that have come through the underage system. Probably will need to get some more transfers in to bulk up the team as the ones they have are either injured or just getting older. Interesting to see if they can get any new players to try and match Bredaghs influx. Other teams just get on with it by introducing younger players but Clonduff have a knack of getting games moved around and shifted to suit themselves and thus get around the camogie team to keep their club happy but leave the other clubs in a stew as they have to rearrange everything from work to travel to getting pitchs, its a mess really.

Just seen the Ulster panel. How did a player who would not play for her county this year be allowed to play for her province? It a disgrace!!!!!

Cheers gaa2. Had a look at the panel there. Alot of Jordanstown players but the manager coaches them so understandable. About girls who do not play for there county is there not a rule that you have to be playing for your county to play for ulster? Another point surly if you have time to travel all round ulster for the training then you can make it to castlewellan for county training..

I'd like to wish the Down girls all the best as well. I'm not trying to be petty but I do think it's a joke that it is played at this time of the year. County teams are preparing for the championship and now Down have had to train without these players as they have been with Ulster training. Surely this is something that needs to be addressed!!

Has anyone any idea about the standard of juvenile ladies football at present. I see Ballynahinch school is having some success. Where do they get players from ?

There was a bit of a clash in Annsbrough last night between Co. Senior and Co. Minor management -

The minor girls are very worried their managers will get fed up with all the hassle they are getting.

They are being encouraged by their manager to play for the seniors if asked but the communication is poor from senior management and a little bit of bad feeling

has resulted.
