Gael-05, have you not got a life yet, still whinng about the same old thing. You should offer to manage the rostrevor girls, then we'll see what you are made of

I feel I must intervene before the discussion about "Sacking" goes any further. So in response to down_gal and gael05 the Rostrevor managment was not sacked..... lets just just make that clarification again....they WERE NOT sacked!!
Secondly about the comment on the attitudes of the girls possibly being the problem, how can one persons disrespective actions and so called bad mouthing be a representative of a whole team, don't make generalisations based on one person. Her actions speak loudly only about herself and not the team. If attitudes were the problem why do they still have a committed panel of girls training 3 times a week (even without managment), and continue to after the slating and insult they receive off people, especially from this forum, when other teams would crumble.
It's great to see the new, up and coming season is off to a positive start????!!!!!! (and we wonder why women's football doesn't get the recognition it deserves!)

Ladies had a great game today. a marvellous performance by them and they had to dig deep at times. they still remain without a win in the division but are doing better than expected in some peoples eyes. Fair play to them and lets hope the improvement continues. Someof the so called senior stars would do well to take note of the improvement in the teams fortunes without them present - wouldnt they do well to go back and just play and lets see this countys ladies really take off.

In answer to a long running saga regarding the rostrevor girls management team of 2009, I think the time has come to set in stone exactly what the situation is. The very experienced management team's efforts were not appreciated by a number of players and individuals and some players preferred to take the easy way out rather than work hard to maintain and improve their status in division 1. The ultimate goal for last year was to survive in the division with a very young side and this was achieved. some people lost sight of this priority. The management team were very unlucky last year as a number of players were injured or unavailable for a period of time. Some preferred to slag off the management on the website rather than assist team mates in their attempts to build a better team for the future. The management team resigned this year due to external commitments and the unavailability of last years trainer . These men deserve great credit for undertaking this very difficult task last year and pulling it off. These men are true rostrevor gaels as their achievements over the years have shown and people who have a personal vendetta to wage should realise all they are doing is destroying their
own club - a club is not bricks and mortar, it is about the people within it.

Anyone who gives up their time and effort to train a football team should be recognised, and yes the management were unlucky with the injuries and the young team, the management and the girls were both unlucky last year.
The kid says that the girls are training by themselves without a manager, this also deserves recognition and shows the determination of the girls. its not hard for someone to train and play with a team so the lady/ladies that are getting the respect from the players, should get the respect from everyone else.

time for a change of topic:
Why are down ladies not allowed to play a double header in pairc esler on saturday??

Mr cool 101 if these men were such a good management team then what team are they taking in the club this year????No point saying they resigned when everyone in Rostrevor knows the ladies gave them the elbow...True Rostrevor Gaels are people who support all the teams within the club not just a chosen few.....Ladies its time to regroup and get back the team spirit you had in previous years. You can do it:-)PS: fair play to you for training by yourselves.Keep it up.........

in relation to the rostrevor management. All of the girls liked the men, but as management it was somewhat different. would any player in any team want 5 or 6 members of management shouting different things from the sideline to girls on the pitch....i think not!! girls were confused and didnt know who to listen to. they hadn't a permanent trainor. on a number of occasions girls were told to line out on the pitch wherever they wanted to play and when the temporary trainor they had wasn't there the girls were left to practically take the training session themselves as the management would have had their own conversation and craic and didn't seem the slightest bit interested. i would like to ask any girls or infact boys too if they would have liked this themselves...honestly. i think the team has done right by not voting they're management back in. if they were to have stayed nobody would have played under them. continue doing what your doing girls!!!

I would like to remind you all that ladies club football managers are volunteers. Who try their best.
The Rostrevor were liked by many and many also enjoyed their training. Maybe some of the girls should take responsibility.
The managers took teams in the club previously and were sucessful. I think its up to the girls now themselves as i believe no one will want to take the team

if the girls liked the mentors and liked their training, even tho tom dick and harry was taken in to train them, why did they give them the shove???????????A team needs stability, good training,by the 1 trainer and good team moral all that seemed to be lacking last yr.No point saying the mentors were successful with other teams they also made a mess of the minor 06 team, the 2nds team 08 and now the ladies.Time to put ur feet up or maybe u should go and do some courses on how to train a gaelic team!!!!!!!!!!!!Down_gal u seem to know alot about the rostrevor team, were u on it????????????Keep up the training girls ur a credit to yourselves and ur club.....
