League fixtures this week....
Rostrevor v Bredagh - Bredagh by a mega score
Castlewellan v Downpatrick - Castlewellan by 7points
Annaclone V bryansford - Bryansford by 8points
Clonduff V Saval - Draw

The pick of the bunch must be the Clonduff v Saval game (saying as these two meet in the semi final of the championship in August)

Saval are on form with Clonduff slacking this year it should be a tough contest for both sides....what has happened to Clonduff?? havent heard much about them recently. I know the game has now changed venue to Saval being at home on tuesday... Could the winners between these two put it up to Bredagh come championship final time?? Any views?

The girls played alright but at no stage did they look like threatening the Monaghan team enough to scare them into second or third gear. I thought the referee was an absolute joke and you couldnt breathe on a player but she was getting a free kick. No consistency in his game at all. Its a pity when you train for 7 or 8 months of the year and peak at championship time only for a ref like this to show up and ruin the game. Down had two girls sinbinned for very silly challenges but surely a stern word would have done the trick. Some of the girls played well within themselves - and the sooner Michaela learns to pass the ball the better for the team as a whole. The day of her carring the ball through the whole of the opposition team is gone and she needs to realise that there are players around her who are much better than she is - just pass the ball to them......... Yes she has given sterling service - but maybe its time to move on..........

Yes i agree with duff, Down did not give a good account of themselves on sunday and the ref was not much help either. Like duff said Michaela Downey needs to learn how to pass the ball, every time she got the ball on sunday, she was for holding on to it. I think by getting more of the other players invloved in the play, the likes of Grainne McClean and Orla Fegan who have great energy going up and down the field, i believe they would also be dangerous in the forward line with their speed. For example, the link up with Orla Fegan and Aileen Pryers in the first half which lead to the pentaly I thought was a great move and there was no stoping the pair of them!

definately dont think micheala should move on at all, she didnt have her best game on sunday but she has a good few years left in the down jersey!

still dont understand why no subs were brought on in the 2nd half though. thought a few changes could have been made to stop the girl byrne in centre half forward.

aine keary was down's best player in my opinion. didnt stop running the whole time and i thought she did a great job on the wee flyer she was marking.

For southside, I hear that Carryduff beat Ballymartin last night with a score of 6-10 to 1-09. Apparently the duff only need another win to clinch the league.

Hoganstand 125 - i totally agree with ya on the subs thing. Why did these mencarry such a large panel of players all year and then on the big day - when cahnges were definitely needed - didn't make any changes. This is what i have been saying for ages now - they dont know what they are doing. If the team is performing well and beating a team off the park - they will make the changes (easy to do) but when the **** hits the fan - in my opinion they are clueless.. Bring on next year when hopefully the county board gets it right with the management selection for a change.

At long last we are up where we belong - in the senior league and i tell you what - unlike Burren and probably Rostrevor - we are going to stay up. If Annaclone manage to stay up this year - it will be their last season of senior football for a couple of years. By the way - how did rostrevor end up with four points at the minute - they have only won one game v Annaclone so please ammend the table as necessary...

Congratulations Carryduff, well deserved league victory.....
And the table is correct, Rostrevor beat Annaclone, and then also had the points awarded to them in the reverse fixture. I believe that was due to Annaclone not paying registration in time, but not 100% sure on that.

Wellif that is the case - why havent Kilcoo been kicked out of the league altogether. This is the 30th June and they have played 4 league games to date. They call off games for the slightest reason at all and have done so now for the few years they have been set up. Teams who were supposed to play Kilcoo - stand up at the next county board meeting and demand your points caus thats obviously what Rostrevor did.
