Despite what you say leg_end - you know i have a very valid point. These men have been getting away with too much for too long and for the good of the county - they need to realise - step down....... singer (Down) - Posts: 330 - 09/03/2009 15:20:38 228061 Link 0 |
Singer please name the people who you think would do a better job. Burrenman (Down) - Posts: 36 - 09/03/2009 15:36:52 228080 Link 0 |
Singer please tell us all what these men keep doing wrong and what should be done differently. Tell us how they are bad for down football and what it is they are getting away with. Come on, back up your staements!!!! gaaforall (Down) - Posts: 130 - 09/03/2009 16:46:53 228167 Link 0 |

wow, well done carryduff. I take it Clonduff were missing all their county players though?? Still fair play to Carryduff, its not easy to step up a level like that, big name players missing or not. leg_end (Down) - Posts: 62 - 10/03/2009 14:46:06 229090 Link 0 |
Yes i have finally given into temptation and comments which have frankly disgusted and annoyed me!!! As a pretty much novice to the ladies gaelic scene i was of the impression people would be soo supportive of any ladies team in any league whether junior or senior and whether they have been promoted or relegated!! Is it not hard enough for any ladies team to be taken serious in a male dominated sport without eejits slagging teams off at any given chance. Yes clonduff may be the team of the moment but cut a little slack and congratulate teams like Rostrevor, Ballymartin or Kilcoo who have given intermediate football a great name and have got to where they are through hard work and determination. Refrain from niggling at teams such as Burren for getting relegated or Annaclone for possible relegation and pat them on the back for their achievments in the first place! Instead of making predictions and harsh comments on teams celebrate the fact clubs across the county are busting themselves to represent and give ladies gaelic a good name and enjoy the sport as it flourishes.......god that felt good!!! Oh, not to forget any Saint Mary's girls who made the Lynch Cup.... leg_end (Down) - Posts: 62 - 13/03/2009 12:35:37 231651 Link 0 |
so what are everyones thoughts on the season ahead?? who will win the league?championship? and who will get relegated?? in all divisions............... downman41 (Antrim) - Posts: 6 - 14/03/2009 18:42:29 232401 Link 0 |
I would like to congratulate the players and management on finishing top of their league and wish them the very best in the upcoming playoffs. Apparently every player, bar those on the long term injured list, was used in the national league and that is a credit to the management who could easily have stuck with the first winning team. No matter what people's opinions are, credit has to be given when it is due and I think this group of players and management deserve credit for the obvious hard work they are putting in. The club season starts this weekend and lets hope all the county players come through it unscathed and can give the playoffs a real lash and hopefully get us into division 1. gaaforall (Down) - Posts: 130 - 18/03/2009 15:13:59 234185 Link 0 |
What were the ladies results on sunday. Was at Rostrevor vs clonduff; the reds battled gamely, but clonduff were just to strong and skilful, michaela downey scored (i think) 10 of their twelve pts. befair (Down) - Posts: 238 - 24/03/2009 12:17:38 237984 Link 0 |
yes I think Michaela scored 9 of the 10 points in the first half from frees. Rostrevor battled well in the second half reducing the 10 point difference to 6 points at the finish (12 points to 1-3). mac01 (Down) - Posts: 9 - 24/03/2009 12:58:48 238023 Link 0 |
I think bryansford and the town drew, and downpatrick lost to saval 0-6 to 3-8. leg_end (Down) - Posts: 62 - 24/03/2009 13:26:38 238055 Link 0 |

All the best to the Down ladies on Sunday sun (Down) - Posts: 19 - 03/04/2009 10:27:53 247174 Link 0 |
I have to say very well done to the team and management on sunday past. Although Wexford may not have been the best opposition but you absolutely blew them away with your pace, power and some fantastic play. If you play like that there is no reason why you cant win that league. Congratualtions and keep it up. gaaforall (Down) - Posts: 130 - 07/04/2009 09:29:53 250452 Link 0 |
Have heard that Lynsey Cunningham is out for match on Sunday after getting injured at training last night. This is a massive blow to the team. Hope she recovers soon. Best of luck on Sunday girls. gaaforall (Down) - Posts: 130 - 15/04/2009 10:37:50 257479 Link 0 |
good luck to ladies tomorrow in Saval;if they play to their best they should come through. Alos hard luck to U-16s, a great match in Rostrevor, vs a hotly-fancied Tyrone team ended in a draw, which I understand means they don't progress, a win would have put them through. If that team stays together they could show up well at minor grade befair (Down) - Posts: 238 - 18/04/2009 22:31:49 261812 Link 0 |
Division 1........ Congratulations!!!! A well deserved reward for all the hard work put in by the team (&management & background team), was a really enjoyable game to watch on sunday, with some quality football shown by both sides. Sligo certainly know how to move the ball and have some speed!! However Down never looked like losing this one, and standout player for me was Fionnula Carr!! She was fantastic. Excellent team performance all round, and some big performances from Kyla Trainor and Lisa Morgan. leg_end (Down) - Posts: 62 - 20/04/2009 09:48:43 262601 Link 0 |
Congratulations to the ladies on this great achievement on Sunday. I think the management deserve great credit for getting the girls into this postion. The team look in fantastic physical condition and played some great football at times. It would be great now to go and win this final but no matter what they will be playing in Div 1 next year. This has been an ambition of these girls for a long time and it just goes to show if you work hard enough for something then anything is possible. Cant wait to see you in the final and well done to all gaaforall (Down) - Posts: 130 - 21/04/2009 09:38:42 263690 Link 0 |
