Agree with most singer - but not all............

Mine would be.........

Elaine Mc Court
Aine Keary, Eliza Downey, Emma Mulhern
Kerrie O'Neill, Aveen Downey, Ciara O'Higgins
Finuala Carr, Lynsey Cunningham
Kyla Trainor, Lisa Morgan, Grainne Mc Clean
Aileen Pyres, Michaela Downey, Orla Fegan

Then bench has likes of Niamh Lennon, Sinead Fegan, Gemma Gibney, Ciara Mc Ardle and Aine Hardy to call upon if need be.. The ladies are definitely in a stronger position this year than they have been for many years......... All the best to them and hope the result goes their way.........

Well what about that for a performance today........ shambles..... Team selection was wrong for a start and Jenna Connell should have started the game as she proved when she came on.... And how Grainne Mc Clean aint getting a start is beyond me.. This girl is a super footballer and a great attitude to the game but yet sits on the bench with mediocre players on the pitch... Not good enough... Management out..... Of course people are going to point out the win against Meath - a shadow Meath team might i add... They were missing about 6 players who are regulars from their team....... Club season starting soon and clubs are not getting their players either - do these men think they run the county??? Need taking down a peg or two i think......

Great win today for the ladies against the strongest team in the division (missing players or not). First half performance was immense, especially playing into a strong wind. last 10minutes was shakey to be sure with some wayward passing, but it was certainly not helped by shockingly inconsistent refeering.... 2sinbins that should never have been!! Not a great game by any means, and Meath's shooting was shocking.... but the hard work, grit, teamwork and determination the girls showed got them through and they should enjoy their victory (as shud the management - well done boys). Standout players for me, the 2clone girls, Eliza Downey and Aileen Pyiors, Jenna Connell when she came on to play sweeper was fantastic, and Elaine Mccourt also did well and was unlucky that the meath girls netted the rebound after a great penalty save. Kyla Trainor also played well, though didn't have the same impact as she did against cavan, and scored a crucial well taken goal!
Don't know about anyone else, but i'm enjoying watching the county get the results they deserve which reflect all the hard work they put in week in week out. Keep it up girls, you're doing us proud!!!
Singer - knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit - wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad!!

Was at the ladies match yesterday and I thought they played very well for most of the game. Their first half performance was fantastic and the power and strength of some of the players was immense. They lost their way a bit in the second half but I think if anyone had told them the result at the start of the game they would have taken it with both hands. I think this also shows that singer has got it in for this management duo no matter what they do. The way this team has improved since these guys took over is a credit to them and the players. As for team selection, well that can only be criticised when they lose, so far they seem to be getting it right. I haven't heard anything about clubs not getting their players. I doubt it very much saying it came from singer and the county players have trained with their clubs. At this stage of the year clubs should be focusing on getting their non county players into shape.

The standard of football yesterday was just brilliant. The first half was top quality, and while the team dropped off towards the end, when the score was needed it was got. Eliza Downey appears to be in her element as the Down Captain and is playing the football of her life. Michaela Downey received some hard tackles which went 'unnoticed' by the ref to say the least. Was very glad to see Finuala Carr there, to be honest I didn't expect it giving the Camogs were playing, but this is a real boost for the footballers. Every girl should be very proud of their performance. I know you will just take one game at a time but I feel a long season coming on. Well done girls keep up the good work.

Another big game this weekend and with Longford winning last week - they will definitely be up for this challenge of this game.
Hope the management finally get the team right this weekend for once... Will post my team at another time..........

Great to see more informed wisdom from singer i wonder will his proposed team be accurate, or will it be pulled from his **** like his previous statement. Very lazy of him to confidently quote ""meath had a shadow team", "Missing at least 6 players"!! It took all of team two minutes to check the meath team list from there last 3 games. These team lists show a few changes per game and in fact three changes for the down match, one as a result of moving the forward sheridan to full back to mark michaela downey, the other two optional, as their previous starting forwards all made an appearance as substitutes!! Continued pathetic rants devised to undermine the management but in fact only undermines singers intelligence. A true knowledgeable football fan i must say.

Down team v Longford: Official

Elaine Mc Court
Jenna Connell, Eliza Downey, Niamh Lennon
Emma Mulhern, Aoibheann Downey, Sinead Fegan
Fionnuala Carr, Kyla Trainor
Grainne Mc Clean, Lisa Morgan, Ciara Mc Ardle
Orla Fegan, Aileen Pyres, Lynsey Cunningham

Heard this was the team the management read out to the panel on Tuesday night at training.... Happy enough with it - but still think leaving out an all star is a massive risk.........

Singer why do you bother? The team was not named at training nor has this management ever named a team before the day of a match. Stop these childish posts just put on here to cause annoyance to people. You are doing the team no favours whatsoever and you are actually a real thorn in the side of Down ladies football.

So whats the thoughts for the 1st game of the season..... Anyone predict any upsets??
Bryansford v Castlewellan
Rostrevor v Clonduff
Bredagh v Annaclone
Downpatrick v Saval

The mighty ford will beat the town with something to spare, clonduff will beat new kids on the block Rostrevor, Downpatrick will succumb to Saval and Bredagh will account for the clone easily... I expect the clone and rostrevor to be in a dog fight this year to see who is relegated.....
It has come from one of those involved about the team being announced in training - im only going on what i hear....

Well - who is going to come onto this message board now and tell me i was right all along..... A defeat by Longford - i mean Longford of all teams and two girls red carded. The team lost its discipline, shape and function - and why because two men were standing along the sideline and hadnt a clue what they were at.... How can they make such drastic changes from the Meath game and expect to win? A very arrogant approach to the game from both of them... I hope the county board look into this lack of knowledge and do what i have been waiting for the last season and a half - get rid of them..............

So they were beaten by a better team on the day who were well up for the challenge... Dont forget singer that down held this team scoreless last season and just had an off day yesterday. I hear the referee was an absolute disgrace at the game. Some decisions given were very questionable to say the least - including both red cards. I hope there is justice in the system and this man never gets to grace a ladies game again and that both red cards are recinded.. Down ladies are not a dirty, malicious team - they play hard/fair football and it has proved to be successful in the past season. I hope they can forget tis result and move on to the Fermanagh game with confidence and get a result there.

god im soooooooooooo bored of the same old bitter rant about the management, last week singer you gave off about the team selection for meath (not enuf bryansford players wasnt it?), you say the management change the team 4longford and yep, u back track saying they shudnt have changed the team!!! I wasn't at the game, so i can't comment on it, but for so many girls to be sent off/sin binned makes me want to question the refeering?? The girls are not dirty players - they certainly put in strong challenges, but they are fair. Yes, they should have beaten Longford, but jesus who cares they lost a game............ its not the end of the world, they will learn from this as will the management. Its a reflection on the progress the team has made over the past few years that we now expect them to win every game, as a supporter I'm disappointed in the loss - but because I know how talented the team are and the amount of work they have put in in Preparation. In no sport in the world including the international scene of all PROFESSIONAL sports wud loosing 1 game result in the management being ousted!!!! Grow up & change the record singer. The boys are here for the season, try and get behind them for the girls sake.
