Down ladies - Proper message board

Singer please tell us who the men are under pressure from? Its looks to me that if these two men ever walk away that there wont be too many looking to take up the mantle. I also believe that it will be a massive blow to Down ladies football if they do walk away. I think they are doing great work, are very professional and are really bringing Down ladies forward in a massive way.

We need a good start on sunday girls and we know you can deliver - so lets put all the great work to use on Sunday v Longford and get a positive result down there..... Then we will worry about the next game.......

Well, under these guys Down ladies have won their 1st ever senior championship match, got to their first senior national league semi-final only to be beaten by 1 pt, in the ulster semi final were beaten by 3 pts and the previous year they were stuffed by the same team, went unbeaten in the league pre knockout, they are no longer a disrespected team but are now feared by any team they play. Their training is better than it has ever been, the girls are fitter, stronger and more of a unit under these guys. They have secured sponsorship for the girls this year themselves using their own initiative and the girls will now be kitted out like a proper county team. They have brought people on board to deal with all aspects of the team from goal keeping coach to liason officers and if you ask any of the girls (even the ones who you say you talk to) I'm sure none of the above can be questioned. So singer correct me!!!!

All you seem to mention is defeat defeat defeat... They done well - but they got beat. they got to a semi final but got beat... Feared by teams they play - yeah right - thats why Kildare and Monaghan played B teams against them - thats total respect alright........ Sponsorship - yeah i will agree with you there - that was a good system and i boght a ticket myself for the main draw.. The goalkeeping coach - did he even do nets as a player - i dont recall him - if so - how successful was he?????? What exactly does a liason officer do? Are these guys not the managers/trainers - why dont they just concentrate on that instead of organising people to do stuff thats not needed........

Singer you really are just on here to cause aggro. I was simply pointing out that although they may not be winning all-irelands they are progressing from what they were and these guys have definitely brought in a fresh professional approach and if you, even with your cynical posts, cannot even agree with that then your a bigger fool than everyone thinks you already are.

Where is this professionalism you are talking about??? Getting tops and gear is hardly professional... Everyone is training using current methods now so that aint professional either... Where is it - caus i cant really find it?????????

wake me up when singer changes his song!
gaaforall, i couldnt agree more with your comments! I hope all the hard work the girls (and management) have been putting in pays off this season. They deserve a bit of luck, which i personally think was all that was missing in some of the games last year. You couldnt fault their fitness, dedication or attitude!!

I never said anything about the players - i will never fault the players for their work rate etc. The system and the management are what i have issues with...

Here we go again! Biting at what Singer says, ignore him because obviously they havent a clue. They might know about all the defeats etc, so what. These men have worked more than any other coach would. The goal-keeping coach was an excellent goal-keeper, from youth right through to senior, where he had to play for the premier reserves, and then sustained injuries. I would have had no doubt he could have bben county goal-keeper had it not been for these injuries. But that is not the point im trying to make. Im sick reading comments from singer who is the most hated person on any message board. They have rarely had someone agree with them, and are down right ignorant because these girls deseve a chance. They have a great set-up and two men that think the world of them, and are entirely committed. I feel it is in our best interests to ignore singer, the negativity would lead me to depression, and we all need to be positive for these girls.

Oh people how sad you all are.It is obvious that Sxxxxx is winding you all up and you fall for it every time.Catch
yourselves on and ignore this sad person.Should any of you keep engaging/ responding to the wind ups,why come on
crying after you take the bait.

Dont say too much about girls running and the coaches on bicycles - we have been doing it for years..... Hard to keep up with the new breed of athlete... Disappointing the game wasnt on yesterday for the girls as they were probably ready for the test that awaited them.... Bring on Cavan in two weeks time.. They won their game yesterday so will be a real test for the down girls to beat them....

was at U-16 friendly vs Armagh today. Plenty of strong performances, maybe need more clinical finishing. They are apparently in a very strong group, Tyrone and Donegal, but they will acquit themselves well

i thought the under 16s played very well as well. the forwards worked well together and everyone supported each other. some very good players too. good chance to win donegal and tyrone.
