Division Two

Very tight division.

Westmeath are yet to lose a game but one loss could still put them right back down into a zone where it's going to be a real dog fight to avoid relegation.

Happy enough with Louth so far, think they could surprise a few more teams before the league finishes in April.

I can't believe Galways second half performance. Very disappointed. They had a 6 point lead, home field, the wind in the second half, etc and yet they screwed it up and were lucky to salvage a draw against Westmeath. Whatever good the Galway hurlers will do I'd say the Galway footballers will do nothing. Pathetic.

I wouldent be surprised if div 2 came down to points difference its so close.Hopefully Wexford will stay up but seems like we were crap today.

I don't know Woodlawn. I mean it was a game we were expecting to win and after the first half and playing with the wind i thought we would - but in the last few minutes, after Westmeath got the goal I thought they were going to run away with it. We did well to come back into the game and really should have closed it out with a win. On the bright side it was a close game that we didn't lose and we showed a bit of bottle coming back into the game.

We're away now to Longford which is a huge game. A win and we're in with a promotion shout - defeat and relegation worries could start. It's such a tight division that a couple of back to back wins at this stage will have you safe and in with a shot at going up.

It is a common fact that the Galway footballers think a game is only 35 minutes long.

Looks like we're doomed to go straight back down....fairly sickening loosing 3 games by a combined 5 points! Of the three Westmeath at home should have gotten something since we have just the 3 home fixtures but the Wexford away match was absolutely thrown away!

Still thought we've had 3 close competitive games against better opposition than last year so it should prepare us better for championship regardless if we go down

Has anyone told the Galway footballers that the league has started?

Ah now Galway lads we are not falling for that. If we don't buck up ourselves, we will also be in a relegation battle.

@Tribe: Ah! That aulde County Board: here we've been maligning them all these years when it turns out that the last 10 years has just been a cunning ruse to lull Mayo into a false sense of security! Pure Genius!

@Yew: Don't you try and underdog the underdogs! Mayo are raging hot favourites to hammer us out the gate and nothing you say can change that. Hell, the way we're playing now ye could send out Cora Staunton on her own and she'd run circles around this bunch.

Mayo are going to easily beat us poor Tribes in the championship. No Mayo man, woman or child can argue that fact.

Don't be throwing in the towel just yet, beat Galway at home next Sunday which ye are well capable off then its all to play for. With the 2 bardens, Smyth and Mulligan now back for ye, maybe even start 3 of them on Sunday ye are alot stronger than the start of the league.

Great open game against Derry last night - a draw was probably fair enough.

Jamie was outstanding for us - gonna be a big miss for last three games. James Kielt was also superb for Derry.

Starting to think Westmeath might have a half decent team. Heslin is incredible. Young player of the year if he was from anywhere else.

Westmeath are actually an alright team as it turns out. Heslin is just unreal. Surely a contender for YFOTY. Has any u21 been as good as him so far?
