1341558 Finally, I have to say that Brogan must already have an all-star in his pocket for his performances this year.
Dubby With all due respect no All Star will be handed out on the strength of O'Byrne Cup, Railway Cup or League games. It's performances at the business end of the Championship that will decide All Stars.

@beal YAWN!!! Other fans from other counties do it. Its not just the Dublin fans. It didn't bother ye last year when ye won despite the free taker being booed so don't start whinging about it when ye lose.

1341710 Tyrone/Donegal was a bit wearing at times. The teams seemed more concerned with stopping opponents, pulling, dragging and cynical hits. When they did actually concentrate on football there were some very good scores. Tyrone should really stick more to the football because they usually come off better when they do; when they resort to some of the nonsense you can see why they get some stick. Michael Murphy is not a dirty player and was unfortunate to be sent off (was it two yellows, I missed that bit?). Sean Kavanagh looks back on form but I don't think Tyrone have enough quality all over the pitch to challenge for the top honours yet.
Where you at the game ulsterman? I doubt it! What nonsense are you on about?! Donegal dragged and mouthed their way through the game today, and deservedly ended up with 13 men because of it! It would seem that it was more than just a bit of the game that you missed! Your anti-Tyrone sentiment has been duly noted again! I for one am getting pretty tired of your supposed voice for Ulster B.S!

That was probably me who said that and was meant to be tongue in cheek. However, he has 3 or 4 goals and 60 points in all competitions since January. Not too many of the all star forwards will have that tally when the awards are being handed out, never mind in week 1 of March. Just saying that his early form has been sensational. I agree that all stars are normally picked on the AI final series which of course is absolute nonsense but probably because the people who make these decisions don't see much Jan/Feb football and feel that there is an onus on them to present stars to the finalists because they deserve them for making the final.
All stars should be handed out based on performances over the whole year and not because of a couple of good games "at the business end of the season". That's how it should be but I acknowledge that this is not how it is.

Tyrone tried to play football today, Donegal attempted to 'lay down markers' and it blew up in their faces! Some of the arm-chair journalists on HS should go to the actual game before voicing their worthless opinions here! You know who you are! Tir Eoghain abu

Just watched the Dublin/Mayo highlights. Bernard Brogan is a class act and Dublin need him fit to have any chance of SAM; Brogan is the heartbeat of this Dublin team and when he's flying the confidence flows through them. I can see teams giving Brogan 'special attention' to keep him quiet during games. Ger Brennan's conduct was shameful and has no place on a pitch. Kicking a fella on the ground is out of order and then sticking a forearm smash in another player's face is even worse. He should have got a red for EACH offence and deserves at least a 3 game ban for EACH offence. He seems a bit of a hot head and you can also see sides winding him up come Championship time. Dublin still look a bit vulnerable with teams running at them through the middle and that's where I think they may fall a bit short this year.

BB's class is never in doubt Joxer, if he stays injury free he could potentially have a sensational championship.

It's pointless looking at todays game with the view of how these teams will be in July/August/September. Last year we seen Donegal lose 2.16 to 1.08 to Kerry in National League Rd 6, and hearing many people write them off as contenders for an All Ireland. Donegal look to be following a similar preparation path this year, and will be a very different beast come championship. At the same stage last year Tyrone had won the McKenna cup and were steam rolling through Division 2, with some giving them an outside chance for an All Ireland by many. I think Tyrone have Improved on last season, but it remains to be seen by exactly how much. I don't think todays game told us a whole lot. I still think a full strength Donegal team have the edge on Tyrone.
I think both Down and Kerry were really unlucky today, both should have really lifted 2 points each.
Dublin looked Impressive last night against Mayo.

Dry yer eyes gatekeeper Tyrone are not above criticism and have indulged in the dark arts as much as anyone so get off your soapbox and less of the mock outrage. From what I seen of the game Tyrone were just as bad as Donegal at the pulling, dragging and swarm tackling. Furthermore I noticed that the Tyrone players often deliberately walked in front of Donegal free takers to slow the play down. Spokesman for Ulster? If I am annoying you AND Kerry fans I must be doing something correct. Lose the sensitivity friend there is NO agenda against ANY team on my part; I call as I see and will continue to do so. No one has been the biggest defender of Tyrone in the past in the wake of unfair, nasty criticism than me as most people will acknowledge.

I was in Healy Park today, squeezed into the packed main stand.
Stephen O'Neill did appear to be stirring the trouble with Neil McGee late on, bit of mouthing continued after the match ended. I thought the Michael Murphy yellow cards were harsh, like Ulster games are physical by their very nature and the ref was a bit trigger happy.
Donegal and Tyrone both looked Impressive at times, although I thought it was Joke when I seen big Neil Gallagher starting in the full forward line. Tyrones Keeper deserved the man of the match award, was an outstanding performance by him and he showed why he is keeping big McConnell out of the team.
I still think a full strength Donegal will have the edge on Tyrone come May. The game as an Intriguing contest ended in the first half with Murphy's sending off, as Mickey Harte and Jim McGuinness both admitted on Highland radio afterwards.
