Dublin have massive advantages over other counties

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

once and for all please listen DUBLIN DO NOT GET THE GATE MONEY FROM PLAYING IN CROKE PARK EVERY COUNTY GETS A SHARE.
some people just dont want to listen,as for using vodfone as an advantage what you think the gaa should cap sponsorship and deny county boards getting finance in to give their teams better preparations thats madness you want tp penalise the dublin county board for pulling in a big sponsor to help prepare their teams it just sounds like sour grapes to me,as for croke park as the an dun man said it hardly is an advantage at the end of the day its a pitch with goal posts and grass the same as any other the best team on the day will always win regardless of if the match was played on the moon.

Things are what they are & let's just get on with it. Dublin will always be a top side & with what they have coming through they will stay a top side. The comfort for the rest of the counties is that talent alone will not win you an All Ireland. We have seen a variety of teams coming to the fore in recent years & a dominant Dublin should be a spur for everyone else. After all nothing tops beating the Dubs especially in Croke Park!!

hill16no1man: very simplistict argument you make about home advantage not helping a team. Can you explain how 75% of Heineken Cup Q/F's are won by the home team then, as for soccer I am sure man Utd win more home than away games, stats don't lie. My point was Dublin generate probably 10 times more money than any other team in Leinster and they can plough this money into juvenile squads. We can already see how far Dublin have moved ahead of the rest at minor level, they hammered every team in Leinster last year. All I was saying it is not a level playing field.

gaa has never been a level playing field athboy...counties like longford have never been able to compete with bigger counties such as dublin cork kerry etc largely due to not having the numbers or being a big enough county

explanation is easy it has nothing what so ever got to do with the ground or pitch in them sports as in rugby and soccer its clearly a mental thing that they feel cant go there and win.yes they generate that but dont recieve it do they?the money from the league is shared among all the countys and the same with leinster championship its shared among all leinster countys so i dont get your point at all.why becuase alot of coaching has gone into underage and alot of work has been put in on the pitch that means its unfair that we are now reaping the rewards of producing good players? how its still 15 v 15 when both teams take to the pitch is it not why is it not a level playing field?

1 issue id have is dublin getting all home games but its not their fault either it just makes sense for the gaa for dublin to play their games at home...it comes down to making money a lot of the time

Tend to actually disagree with the original statement, yes Dublin gaa is the best financed in country, as for sponsor yeah they got a big name but then so does cork, and as of this year so has meath. I think a lot of the problem within counties financially are predominantly their own fault, who is in charge etc,
does playing in Croke park have a huge advantage? Yes but where else would they play? Plus let's be honest hear beating them there is so much sweeter than anywhere else, remember 10? Half them had gone prior to cluxton picking ball out of net for fifth time, and they ain't really dominating foot ball in past 20 years we have won as many as them. But i see your point that in future that may Change but until that happens i can't see point in complaining

When compared to Donegal's they are certainly cheaper.
The again our county board isnt in the business of overcharging.

Ha I couldn't careless about spellings but if your going to start pulling lads up on it make sure you have your own house in order first. Yeah until we start dominating there's nothing really to give out about yet.

Does the Hill close for non-Dublin games? Were there not loads of Donegal and Mayo supporters on the Hill last Sept?

I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about. If it's about a post from a couple of weeks back, it wasn't the spelling that got to me but the tone of the post which to tell you the truth I couldn't tell you now what it was about. The spelling was just the icing on the cake.
