O'Byrne Cup Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I hear they are expecting 10,000 for the O'Byrne Cup Final at Parnell Park. Any truth to this?, very tall order for this early in the year.

What is the max capacity for Parnell Park? Is it too higher in the O'Byrne Cup? Could be a full-house I'd say. If it is 10,000 I could easily see Kildare bringing at least 5,000 anyway.

May as well move it to Croker sure everything else is!!! There will be a big crowd alright, Dublin and Kildare are considered by most to be the top two in Leinster and will both be looking for early bragging rights, an interesting early season clash, Dublin scoring well at the moment and will probably take it

If Dublin can't fill Parnell Park for a final out of a population of a million odd then it doesn't say much for their supporters

Brady's Ham announced as new Kildare sponsor. Expect some Meaty challenges at the weekend now. New jersey is not nice...

Sure nothing would come close to the Donegal faithful, legends in irish folklore for travelling to matches in their droves ?????

The wife was looking forward to the cream of Dublin manhood doing a Newcastle Utd on it & displaying bare torsos in the January air. She will be disappointed!!

A very direct and unusual comment
I mean if everything was that simple
as AI Champs where has all you support been over the last few weeks
Have all your matches been sell outs?
Come on...
Has there been any sell outs around the country yet?
We barely get sell outs across the country during the championship for flip sake
If you're interested in having useless pot shots then fair enough
but it's a farcical logic you're currently applying

Muckross do you not realise the vast majority of city dwellers couldn't give a toss about Gaelic football, would you fill Ballbofey for a Dr. McKenna cup final V Monaghan?

If there was a million people living within easy reach of Ballybofey then yes I am sure we would fill it for a McKenna Cup Final

I was talking about your home matches, mc kenna cup, league. everyone is selective when it suits.

Even home games are an expedition up here Ath Cliath. Ballybofey is an 85 mile round trip for me. Those are the sort of distances that would give some Dubs nose bleeds.

And for a lot of Dubs who moved out to Meath, kildare , Louth and even Carlow and Laois it's they travel big distances too. Of course you most likelt think every Dub rolls out of bed and into CP!! Not all....I do though and it's great!

Áth Cliath le 4 chúilín. The Dubs by four points. It will be good to see a good crowd out this time of the year. The injury fund will be greatful!

"We have to travel really, really really really far away from home to play any matches and those big bad Dubs only have to go down the road on their magic LUAS and DARTS. It's not fair at all at all.................boohoo.............and they call us culchies..............it's not fair..............blah, blah, blah, blah"

On the match itself. Hard to tell this early as it's all about fitness and seeing newer players etc.

Kildare by the odd score maybe.

Sound a bit like the Dubs last year when they had to go travel when the hurlers had to play Clare, of course there was an excuse as to why it was different then like there always is when it comes to the Dubs
