A great servant to his county and a football man to his bones. One of the great characters of the GAA gone. Condolences
to his family.

Wonderful touch by the BBC last night in posting a picture of Paidi amongst sport greats who have passed away this year, it made what had been a great show even more memorable. RIP Paidi, a true icon from our games.

My first Munster Final was in 1975 - the day himself and Dinny Allen got to know each other!
Was a wonderful player and manager.
RIP POS.

Very sad news and at only 57, no age at all. A true Kerry legend who was a jewel in the Kingdoms crown. God Bless you Paudi. R.I.P

Fair play to the BBC last night, you wouldn't have seen that a few years ago.

I am to young to say that I saw him playing but from the old footage of Paidi in action he really was a player you would want on your team. I met him a few years ago in his great pub and he will be a massive loss to west Kerry. I have a quick question and maybe someone can help me. It has been said that in 10 All Ireland Finals Paidi only conceded 1 point from play. Just wondering who scored that point??? Rest in peace Paidi...

Guigh maith dhóibh siúd a shéid an ghaoth,
Is iad uile a stiúir an bád.
Thugamar linn é i gcoinne an trá;
Beidh buíoch thar lá mo bháis

I never met Paidi, some friends that did have told me what a gentleman he was and the impression he left upon them. Thoughts and prayers are with the Ó Sé family on this day. Kerry and the GAA have lost a great man.

I remember someone once say Christy Ring was for Ireland not just Cork and i think the same can be said for Páidí

I couldn't believe it. I remember him in 1986 when Kerry beat us in the final. Doesn't seem that long ago. Gone too soon. He was a quintessential Kerryman - wore his talent and competitive instincts lightly. Football was a serious business for him, but his genius was to be that committed and yet to be that light-hearted at the same time. In an era of "on message" PR-trained and perhaps overly-earnest sportspeople, Páidí O'Sé was a rip-roaring throwback to a more carefree Irish culture. Also, Páidí was a national treasure who seemed to belong to the entire GAA community. He seemed to have charmed everyone he ever met; you never heard a bad word said about him. A real sense of an era passing.
