I'm actually gutted was always a hugh fan of his even as a kid idolised him, drank manys a pint in his place back west, if you wnat to sum up the personification of Kerry Football Paidí was it. Pure pride and passion. It's a sad day for Kerry Football thats 3 now of that great team that are gone, horse, Egan and Paidí.

The word legend is bandied about far too often, a term often totally wrongly bestowed on the likes of Alan Brogan etc (who are v.good players obviously)Paídí was a TRUE legend of the game. A phenomenal record as player and as manager. Shocked and saddened by the news today, the GAA has lost a great charcater.

If anybody hasn't seen it, the 2004 documentary about Paídí and Westmeath on the road to winning leinster is available on youtube. It's called 'Marooned'.

Legend of a man. Met him down in Kerry in 2011. Seeing how big of fans we were he took us over to his house and took out his all Ireland's for the first time since his mothers wake. My brother got the privilege of Páidí handing him one of his medals and informing him that it was the first time anyone outside the family had held his medal. RIP Páidí
