For performance from my own team the handling and skills 2008 v Dublin in torrential rain.
For sheer intensity endeavour and atmosphere I've never experienced before or since AI semi 2005 versus Armagh. The Wee man knocking over the point virtually last kick of game and Mugsy pretending he didn't mind taking it but hoping PC would take control - and he did.

Ballybannongael, I well remember watching that Down V Derry match in '94 and thinking at the time that it was the best football game I'd ever seen. They were the two best teams in the country meeting in the first round and there was no back door option for the losers, which made for a fierce level of intensity. It was played in a fine sporting spirit however and both teams played some brilliant football.

The best game of inter-county football I was ever at was the 2008 Ulster Quarter-Final replay between Down & Tyrone in Newry where Down won 1-19 to 0-21 after extra-time. Before that it was the 2003 Ulster Final in Clones which finished all-square, Down 4-08 Tyrone 1-17 - Both years Tyrone lifted Sam and Down finished the summer early in the qualifiers!

Another great day was the 2010 All-Ireland Quarter Final - Down 1-16 Kerry 1-10 when Down were rampant! Kerry were missing a lot of players for one reason or another and it was nowhere near as competitive or intense as the first two encounters I mentioned.

Long live the Ulster Championship!

The two that stand out for me are 2001 QF V Dublin in Thurles, M.Fitz point. 2008 QF V Galway, Meehan had a monumental game for Tribesmen that day. 2 great games i enjoyed.

2004 Munster hurling final stands out for me though Cork lost that particular game. 1991 was also a great game in Munster (though again we lost after a replay).

Dublin kildare Leinster final 2010 . Could savour it as a neutral. Dublin had ger Brennan sent off in first half but Bernard brogan won it on his own.

Down v Tyrone (replay) 2008- Very very entertaining game at a packed Marshes, hard to beat. This defeat possibly helped Tyrone to re-build and highlighted areas where they could improve which IMO helped them go on to win Sam

Down v Kerry 2010- Hammering the AI champions and maintaining our 100% winning championship record vs the Kingdom was excellent

Down v Kildare 2010- Watching your county win an AI semi-final is a very special feeling

It has to be the All Ireland Semi Final of 2005 for me Armagh and Tyrone it had everything how the ref awarded a free to tyrone at the end of the game is beypond me no team deserved to loose a game like it,

The best game I was at was without doubt the 2005 All Ireland Quarter final between Tyrone and Dublin. The game finished a draw with Owen Mulligan scoring one of the greatest goals of all time. Dublin were rampant in the first and only for a number of tactical switches in the second half from Mickey Harte Dublin would have won. Tyrone went on to win the replay by about 10 points. Stephen o Neill gave an exhibition of kicking while Dublin missed the boat the first day... Great game.

That was the 2009 Leinster Final. Barry Cahill scored the goal of his life into the hill and Jayo buried one too. Great game.

The 2010 Leinster Final was unforgettable too.......but for other reasons!

1998 Offaly V Clare in Thurles. The 2nd replay of the All Ireland semi hurling final. Never witnessed such an electric atmosphere. Brilliant game of hurling and a master show by Joe Dooley.
Also the last 5 minutes of the 1994 Offaly V Limerick All Ireland hurling final. I was on Hill 16 that day and almost burst with the excitement.
Been very lean years for Offaly since then, but one dreams of days like that again!
