1299906 Name the only father and son to captain All-Ireland Senior winning teams in either hurling or football?
Galway's Mick Donnellan and John Donnellan. (John learned after he collected the cup that Mick had passed away in the stand during the game).

Good guess but not the pairing I'm thinking of. As far as I know, Mick Donnellan didn't captain any of the winning Galway teams in the 20s or 30s but I'm open to correction on that.

Stumbled upon this old thread as I've been asked by someone to come up with a load of questions for a GAA specific quiz, one where people will be given three possible answers and will have to pick the correct one.

If any Hogan stand posters out there have some interesting questions (and answers!) they'd like to share I'd really appreciate it.

Good one I've come across already is how many men have played in both an All Ireland final (either Minor/U-21/Senior) and in the World Cup?

Bonus kudos for their names and which counties they represented!!

Two questions i like are name the last team to win sam maguire wearing their change strip. It was cork 2010 v down but some people may go for kerry 2014 v donegal or go back to meath 96. The other is name two players who have twice missed penalties in all ireland football finals. Its charlie redmond 92 and 94 and trevor giles 99 and 01. Giles also scored one in 96

Where was the first back door football game played? Clonmel - Louth beat Tipped 2001.

Hi Ollie, Kildare in 1998 when we beat Dublin, Meath and Kerry in succession. Those wer the days!

Think it was Kildare in 1998, beating Dublin, Meath and Kerry before succumbing to Galway in the final.

Yes it was Kildare in 1998. They beat Dublin (1995 All Ireland Champs), Meath (1996 All Ireland Champs) and Kerry (1997 All Ireland Champs) in the same year.

Mick Galwey !

Not the answer but honourable mention for Martin O'Neill. Played minor for Derry, played in the World Cup and brought us to the last 16 in Europe. I remember hearing or reading that O'Neill played in a 13-a-side minor team and was a class act. His brothers were both in the Derry panel that played in the 1958 All Ireland Final.
