Indeed article in Gaelic Life on Thursday reccomending that Ulster take the approach of the underage structures being put in place in Cavan and the GPA are wasting their time proposing an Ulster Team

I still believe that Cavan is under-utilising the hurling area on its doorstep - north Westmeath. 10 hurling clubs within a stone's throw from Mullahoran, Ballinagh, Ballymahugh etc. Instead of looking to Fermanagh & Monaghan for challenges & blitzes they should be competing in Westmeath competitions, particularly Cavan development squads. This is how you raise the competitive standard & quality of hurling.

Maybe so... you should suggest that to the clubs in Cavan or the hurling officer.. Maybe they feel obliged to play teams in Ulster...

+1 here. It the Tain league was brought to U14 level then all would have plenty of quality hurling both inside and outside the county. Its not easy to play in the Monaghan or Westmeath leagues as their master fixture list does not concur with the Cavan one atm but it is better than what is on offer. The clubs themselves want to operate at the higher standard and should be commended for this. If the WH master fixtures list was out pre Christmas and the Cavan fixtures took this into consideration then it could be a win/win for all concerned.
