the article states he goes to ucd what course?..you claim he will walk into a job and you refuse to respond to the rest of my post....ucds great an all but professional sport in australia sounds pretty good for someone who has given dublin gaa so much already

i never said i know what course e was doing i justshowed you that he was going to ucd what does his course matter?what next you want me to get you his timetable or lecturers maiden names so you can make sure he actualy attended.so your attitude is just go with whoever pays you more not what you actualy like to play and are passionate about,of course he would walk into a job the dublin county board would have gotten him one like they have any other player.

Should a GAA player be stopped from going abroad if they are offered a job with an attractive salary or just to gain experience? EG if somebody graduates as a geologist, should they be forced to work in a job, A bank for eg, here in Ireland, simply because it's the one the GAA can fix them up with?

you compared them to the league of ireland...i merely responded to that...and being the 16th best team in europe isnt that bad either especially for a country of our size and limited player pool base

a talented gaa player taking a top engineering job in europe must be a sell out 2 hill if its only for the money..they should take some little job off the dublin county board instead should they?

yes he will becuase he would be sorted out in his chosen carear path by the dublin county board once he finishes his course, lso his profile would have been big in our media if he stayed and 3 or 4 years down the line most ompanys would love the public relations that goes with having a top sports man in their buisness.
im not you want me to find out what course he started well im not a ucd rep how am i to find that out.
i have no problem wit any professional sport

no i didnt compare them to the league of ireland like that at all i said they are quite happy to come back and play for an equaly low level side not a direct comparison to the team i ment and individual would not be happy to play for a small team in ieland but would be happy to come back and play for a small team internationally.
no he musnt be he is not laying one sport all his life and then going to play anew one just because he is offered money.
little job most get bank jobs which is a bit of a jump from being an apprentice

But his chosen career path is with AFL. how are the GAA fixing him up there. your arguement has gone from one floundering point to the nesxt, it's just absurd at this stage

I dont know what part of personnel development you lot dont understand but all the coaches of underage teams including the county boards are driving home this point. Coaches are developing young human beings to get on in life and form an understanding of community and friendships as well as learning and enjoying the skills of the game. The government have being doing this for decades educating our youth to work elsewhere. Just because dublin is losing one player its a problem most county teams lose 2 or 3 every year to work commitments and injuries and so forth. I wish all these lads the very best and that they stay free from injury through their playing careers.
