Just shows how great the gaa can be. Times are tough but Gaelic football, hurling etc always shines through - pride for club and county, tis nothin better.

It's sad in a way, a sort of last refuge. I wonder does it always end 0-0 when Donegal A play Donegal B?

Well said Donegalman. I always laugh when people on here use terms like "fair-weather supporters", sure its always raining in Ireland!! :-)

Explain how it's sad that 30-40 men have raised the spirits of an entire county, got people smiling again, revived gaa in this county, took donegal gaa from a very very dark place to a very bright one, got people out proudly in their county jerseys again, gave people a huge day to look forward too, gave anyone under 23/24 their first all-ireland final to remember... hows it sad ?????

My old dad used to say - the further south in Ireland you go - the meaner people are! Looking at the shower on here he wasn't far wrong.

If Donegal win the AI final they'll be giving out anti-depressants by the truckload.

All the things you have said are perfectly true and you are right to enjoy it. The sad part isn't any of the things you mentioned, its a reflection of where Ireland is today, not just Donegal, and in your own words "got people smiling again". It reminds me of what Ayrton Senna meant to Brazil, that's what I mean by sad.
