Could this be the end of Gilroy?

hill16man,

Do you not find that Pat Gilroy has been over loyal to Connolly though maybe due tio the fact they played together and are club mates? Sometimes I get very nervous about Connolly and feel at times he is a liability. If another manger was to come in I'm not sure the same amount of trust adn belief would be there as is now between Gilroy and Connolly. There is no doubting he is a fantastic player on his day however.

i thaught he was being unfair to mark vaughan when he brought connolly back into the panel.but i think connolly and brogan were left too much to do with the half forward line we played,we had no real scorer in that line with 3 guys dropping back into midfield which means opposing teams can leave two half backs at least sitting around connolly and brogan for extra cover.
connolly kicked two points and was unlucky not to score a goal(was a great save in fairness) he is a confidence player but he certainly has the talent and when kept inside close to goial is very dangerous as he can cause problems.
looking at next year i think if dessie farrell takes over i can see a full forward line consisting of kilkenny bernard and costello starting connolly might be used as a sub only
