I say again. Jimbo, was McEnaney reffing all their subsequent games? Becasue if he isnt then it is not the same then is it? You decided to ignore it the last time and instead went off on the biggest whinge on the thread. Who is whinging again?

maybe its best if McQuillan sits this one out and Ref's the final (where he would be neutral).

"no, mcquillan doesn't favour the dubs in close games" "no, the IMF are not in the country"
WAKE UP LADS.
pat mceneamy is the best ref in the country and he barely gets a big game these days because he reffed a game fairly and dublin lost.
if dublin want a referee to ref an A vs B match, they should get a dublin ref who wont end up taking charge of one of their matches.
the GAA income report last week show exactly why this unjustice goes unpunished.

Why SHOULD we do that exactly?

My post on this can't get through for some reason, the mods here sometimes are bordering on ridiculous.
He should not of been appointed to ref this game and simple as that.
Dublin fans cannot see the unfairness because they never see the unfairness in anything as regards their own team.
There will be uproar if this goes wrong for Mqualllin and rightly so, we have to get on with it and beat 17 men on sunday and nothing can be done about it now , just like nothing will ever be done about Dublin playing every single game at HQ, it's just a case of having to accept it.
It reminds me of Celtic and what Jock Stein said many years ago, Celtic have to always beat the officials as well as the team in front of the in Scotland.

I should hope he hasn't got a big game these days as he's been retired for the last two years.

Oh dear.. Yeah I dont know what that means. Could you explain it please?
Does it mean that we're doing nothing different compared to other high profile counties - Tyrone/Armagh to name just two.
It's not up to Dublin to be impartial. I honestly think you boys dont now how the GAA works.
It's not up to us to be impartial... if this was against the rules then why is he in charge of the game in the first place? Also... Did Dublin get to pick the ref?
Lads... we're doing nothing that hasnt been done in the past by other counties. It's not up to us to make the call whoever refs our games.
I applaud the Dublin setup for being so shrewd.
So dry your eyes lads... it's not up to us who refs these games and we're perfectly within the rules to ask anyone we want to come and ref our training matches.
As are the rest of you... it's nothing new afterall... Kernan/Harte certainly were shrewd enough to do it before big games against Dublin.
No threads about it then though... I wonder why?
Fairly funny that a Monaghan man is talking about being impartial... a certain celeb ref had no problem showing up to Tyrone/Armagh camps during the championship!!

I suppose most peoples problem would be the fact that Joe McQuillan favoures Dublin in the games he reffer last year. Thats probably why most of the 'country' boys have an issue with it.
I just hope that he doesn't make another pro Dublin call to decide the outcome of a game. It'll stoke the already roaring fires.

That's because it's got nothing to do with us. Why can't you understand that...? We don't make the rules. What do you want from us...?
We just want to show up and watch the Dubs... we don't make the rules and the process behind us being able to show up and watch our county is not top of our give a crap about lists.
We've been on the receiving end ourselves as I've already stated...
I just accepted it back then that it wasn't breaking any rules and it was in fact a very very shrewd move by Kernan
I was actually a little envious that they had thought of it in the first place... that's the honest truth of it. It's something that I never would have thought about but after a few questions to the right people… They were like "Yeah...and" "Where have you been James"...
The rules are there. We live by them just like the rest of you.

To justify your own action you use an example of another wrong!! self defeating argument!!
Why was it wrong?
Is it against the rules?
No... it pee'd me off at the time... but then I was like.. feck it! I wish we had have thought of it!
How is it WRONG as you said.. not me. If its not against the rules. Thats my point...
Why SHOULD we have picked another ref?
If it was wrong why is he reffing the match?
PS
We didnt pick him. It's only a forum lads... it doesnt matter what you or I think.
But the logical conclusion is that if something is WRONG then it must be against the rules.
As far as I'm aware this isnt against the rules and thats why managers have used it to their advantage in the past.
We all live by the same rule book. Is that not true...
