Matty Forde Footballer Of The Year????

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Mattie will get an all star but not sure about player of the year, still a fair bit of ball to be played yet. O'Mahony would be a big contender so far. I believe both players were carrying knocks last weekend which says a lot too.

Yeah Graham is a shoe-in. In fact it will go to show what a disgrace the all-starts are if he dosen't get POTY. As for YPOTY, I can't see past Cian Ward.

Tommy Walsh is almost a cert for young player of the year I'd say, providing he and kerry don't have a complete off-day againt cork. Mind you, is Killian Young still eligible for it? He was outstanding against galway.

Graham Gerathy get an all star this year, highly unlikely to say the least. Wasn't he on the bench for the limerick match?? As for someone suggesting Conor Mortimer getting player of the year, outside of Connaught he wouldn't get his place on any decent intercounty team. His most memorable feature this year was that last minute free he had the audacity to attempt against galway. POTY at the moment is between Aidan O Mahony & Shane Ryan, but that can all change if someone can put 2 great displays back to back(3 in Dublin case!) in the rest of the championship. Matty Forde will get an all star but the fact WExford won't make the final counts him out for POTY

wilk whatever

dublin will get to all ireland final and get beaten by kerry.

dublin good enough team, good bit behind kerry, not far behind mayo and up there with galway and cork.

this i believe is the general concensus

"the strong counties like mayo"

Wonder what way grannies in mayo were looking at their grandchildren in 1951 - "ah bless em, they'll be older than me by the time they get to see us winning an AI again"

nice one holy ;)

I think Forde could well become POTY but he needs another outstanding performance in the semi or final. If Wx reach the final then only AOM could take it from him.

You know how it is essexile, it was thrown out there and I had to run with it ;-)

Like you say, if Forde steps up and has a great performance in the semi (win or lose) I think he should get it. Scored some beauties against us even though they did get a whupping. Last 2 games AOM has been excellent, against Cork he was a bit anonymous in the second half but that was the story for a lot of their big names (didn't see the Clare game).

Wexford Limits: cheese and cheesy jerseys (esp the faded yellow to purple)

seriously tho, their limits..?....well this is it....... if they get to an all ireland final i for one will eat my red and green hat and never post here again and thats a promise.

well i think when it comes down to allstars and POTY, the first couple of rounds are more or less discounted anyway.

AOM was excellent against Galway Saturday. I see some people proclaiming him to be better than Moynihan. Not yet, in my opinion, but he could go on to be.....

So you are saying that there Limits are an all Ireland semi final ?
Did you predict this at the start of the year or just decide since Sat evening ?
