How will Dublin approach the semi final this time?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I agree with gaa_lover that it is dublin's to lose. Good as we are, they are the better team, and it is always the better team's game to lose. However, I disagree with his assessment that all we have done since longford is beat leitrim and sligo. We beat cork well, get close to kerry, then hammered the dubs in the league, got to the semi and beat kerry. We hockied leitrim, who went on to show they werent as bad as some said, ground out a result against sligo who had themselves just beaten galway, who most had picked for connaght. Dismantled Down who although were porous at the back still had some quality forwards, all of whom didnt get a sniff. Now in the face of all that, to say they have done nothing reeks of an axe to grind. We are not the favourites and rightly so, but clearly, the team have done well.

If all Mayo have to worry us is where they do their warm up id be very happy! This Dublin team means business, we may not retain the AI this year, but we will be dining at the top table for while yet.

With a bit of luck come the 2nd of September, all three Dublin team this year (minor, U21 and senior) will have/will represent us in an AI final.

it would be an amazing achievement if they could do it all the best to them all...

Have Dublin ever won U21,Minor,Senior in the same year? they have a great chance of doing so this year.

should mayo be more aware or even more afraid of dublin dare i say it without getting slated but really if you think about it what way do mayo approach this game performances to date dublin havent really shined but are winning steady and gaining momentum now a game left and there in the final if they win what if the right dublin team turns up i.e. dubs v tyrone last year or even louth in leinster lets face it all teams have one good performance in them will it catch the mayo lads off guard ????

dublin have no chance of causing an upset..............of the 4 teams left in the competition dublin's performances to date have been the poorest.......... they've beaten 4 leinster teams to date....... louth was comfortable but wexford, meath and laois were all very hard earned............like i've said on many occasions previous leinster football is particularly poor..............i expect mayo to beat dublin with plenty to spare...............it'll be a cork v mayo final.....hard to call the winner............ but look i'll take a chance and say mayo will be crowned the 2012 champions.

the title othis thread gives a differant idea to what its about as i thaught it was going to debate what gameplan dublin would use but instead people are focusing on what happened before the match in 2006,well then shouldnt the title be what way will mayo approach this as they were the ones who made a decision to come up to the hill to warm up in 2006 obviously looking to cause trouble and get an edge so it was them who approached that game witha tactic

it was dublin who were looking for trouble...........mayo were already warming up at that end of the ground............ dublin should have went down to the canal end to do their warm up when they seen mayo had taken up the position at the hill end............dublin think they own croke park.........if you were to ask the dubs where dublins home ground was many if not all would they'd tell you it was CROKE PARK .................... DUBLIN HAVE NO DEFINE RIGHT TO WARM UP IN FRONT OF HILL 16 LINK yet ever since that incident in 2006 croke park have never allowed any other county to warm up at the hill end whenever dublin are involved...............dublin should not be allowed to use the croke park stadium as if it was their own......if parnell park isn't fit for purpose then they should build a stadium which is..........other counties have had to take on big commitments in this area which has put them in serious dept........... those who don't do this are almost certainly left with county grounds that are falling down around them...............these counties don't have any real money to spend on other things as a result..............dublin doesn't have any such monetary problems because for a very small fee they have taken over our national stadium........... a stadium the whole country is/have paid for............this then leaves them with vast amounts of money to spend on other areas like the county teams development etc etc.............they never have to leave the confinds of croke park so is it any wonder they have a strangle hold on leinster.............i very much doubt they would have beaten wexford down in wexford park.... meath in pairc tailteann or laois in o'moore park in this years championship............mayo will put a stop to them i've no doubt about that.

Well i set up the thread & it wasnt about anything that happened before the game. I was referring to the tactics dublin used when they decided that they would take out our best player of the 1st 15 mins

thats fair enough then if that was your original reason for the thread obviously i dont think dublin wnet out on purpose to do that but it at least makes the title of the thread more relevant

haha i had to stop reading that post of yours after the first few lines as all it was was anti dublin moaning, dublin have always warmed u in front of hill16 no other county has had a problem with that i only ever heard of tyrone trying something simliar in the 80tys, why would any team want to warm up in front of a part of the ground packed with the oppostion supporters?

So gammy is now giving out that Dublin get to warm up in front of the hill for every game??? Jesus I hope to god we never have warm up down the canal end it could ruin our players, that canal is no good for warming up at, plus the ball boys are not as good down the canal end. Seriously gammy can you not just talk about the game instead of all the rubbish.

Mayo should win this, with or without Andy Moran.Dublin are a manafactured team with no great talent outside the 2 brogans and Paul Flynn and Cluxton.Mayo have better footballers which I think will get them over the line

Id like to see mayo win this one dubs were in the final last year nice to see a change novelty pairing doesnt matter who wins this one dont think they have a hope against either Cork or Donegal and either of those two deserves to win the AI especially Donegal if they beat cork after beating kerry well earned all Ireland for them thats for sure.

it's dublin that has the problem with warming up at the canal end............their behaviour in 2006 is testimony of that........in relation to why any team would want to warm up in front of a part of the ground that's occupied by dublin supporters........why not........ they have to defend that end of the ground and play into it also during the course of a game don't they........so why shouldn't they warm up at that end of the ground.......you have no sound grounds for argument on this to be honest.........i hope mayo give 2 fingers to the people in the gaa who allow dublin dictate which end of the ground they warm up at........come on mayo a fine is the only sanction they dare impose on you for showing them that croke park belongs to you as much as it belongs to dublin.........upset the dubs at the outset, knock them out of there routine show them you mean business ...........they'll not be happy and thats exactly the way you want to have them........
