Well said Yew he's in fine form lately could do with him in the full forward line, still very fit, lost a bit of pace but that wasn't really in his game anyway. It's be the stuff of dreams if he were to come back.

It's funny when players retired everyone only remembers there good games. I remember him having stinkers and being slated by the Mayo supporters, but since he's retired they only remember his point against Dublin and that has made him a legend even doh they bet an average Dub team at the time.

what a stupid post in so many ways. how was the 2006 dublin team average? you threw away a place in the all ireland final.... clearly not an average team.

thanks for posting those clips. the man clearly still has it. waterford have a player a few years older than him so age is not an issue. he is flying fit by the looks of it.

11thHeaven - If he were to come back it would have been announced by now. if P.Joyce can do it for Galway then why not Ciaran for us? Question here is have we a better forward to bring on with 20mins left in the entire county - answer no.

But I heard he declined an offer to return so thats that - I respect his decision.

My favourite one is when he "tapped it over" from a sideline ball around 35-40 yards out!

Your dead right. I thought the standard was deplorable also. It does go to show the standard that mayo football is at at present. Who couldnt play well against rubbish teams like that?

....Ciaran is a gentleman, a quiet shy, unassuming character, believe it or not.

.......He has the greatest respect for Mayo supporters and wanted to play on in 2008 nad made this clear in his one and only time he approached the press to make this clear. Jom , left him out for whatever reason.

The only time there was a fall out with Mac and a small section of mindless supporters was at a league game in Charlestown (v Kildare, i think) , these so called supporters verbally abused members of Ciaran s family at the game because he had a poor game, he left the panel for a while at the time.

Ciaran is worshiped by the youth of Mayo because of his genius play, he gave Mayo everything when there and shone through in many games down the years, his class and skill will never be forgotten, here in Mayo we adore natural talent and have produced some of the finest from the great Tom Langan of Ballycastle to Ciaran himself.

He will never play for Mayo again, his county days are over.
