Dublin V Mayo. What a game!

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

If Dublin win Mayo cant see them beating Donegal 1. Because of hunger alone 2. Donegal will want to put what happened with dublin last year right.

If Mayo beat Dublin it will be a novelty pairing final and Mayo will have the hunger but I think Donegal are better this year than mayo and have won better opposition to reach the final compare to Mayo actually You couldnt compare the confidence of beating kerry and cork to reach the final as opposed to mayo's win's over down or even if they win the dubs.

Donegal's for the taking and rightly deserved All Ireland it would be a huge shame if they dont go on to win it after the route the took to reach the final alone.

Todays game has really made me impatient to have to wait a week for our game I'll be wishing down the hours till I take my seat in the Hogan. I do love the way the Dublin supporters are going on playing themselves down but im sure we mayo supporters would be doing the same if we were in their position. Dublin haven't played well this year but still eeking out wins that shows to me the experience they've garnered over the last couple seasons but especially last years title winning achievements.....all it takes is 1 game and 1 performance to be in an all Ireland final so who says they can't discover their form of old!
As an advid mayo supporter im am more than pleased with how we've progressed in the last 2 years. Likewise with Donegal we needed a structure and team ethic that seemed to be missing in previous campaigns and James has instilled that along with a fearlessness into the squad. From 1-12 we look solid full forward though is our problem especially with Andy gone. Our inside line dont seem to able to get 4/5 points from play which the likes of donegal/cork/kerry/dublin do. Micky Conroy has that ability but so far it hasn't happened though I hope his performance against down has his confidence up.
A lot has been made about neither team being tested against top opponents so far to me that doesn't make a difference it boils down to next Sunday 3.30 and who wants it more and who's willing to fight for those inches to get over the line..........
.i just hope it us!!

in my honest opinion if dublin beat mayo and face donegal in the final i really think dublin will beat them all this hype for donegal has gone into overdrive its like they have won already, dont get me wrong im delighted for them there in the final but all this unbeatable and supermen and so forth is unreal its good actually because its taking alot of the shine away from dublin and mayo in all fairness but what i see happening now is some people are setting donegal up for a big fall....

Will Alan Brogan play in the final? Should be a good game at the weekend. I think Dublin need a decent start they dont want Mayo to get something to fight for early on. Mayo of course will bring savage hunger into this game, but will they be able to get enough scores? Will the Dublin of last year show up or will it be the team that have been stumbling along so far? We will soon see if Gilroy has his troops ready for what I think will be a stern test from Mayo at the weekend!!!!

Even though mayo will hammer Dublin next weekend due to their outstanding form Ciarain Whelan hit on the one thing last night that still silently wrankles at the pit of Dublin stomachs and needs to be straightened out, put to bed, and the natural order of things restored: CW said: "2006 is the one that still haunts me today"!!

This Dublin team (and its supporters) are carrying a grudge that the Dubs will bring into Croker next Sunday.....2006!
Cumuppance needs to be dished out in revenge!....thats the one thing that stirs in the pit of all Dublin stomachs!

But two things:
1. If Dublin win, we are honest enough to know that its not the same 2006 mayo team we will have beaten (unlike the cringeworthy scenes a few weeks ago when kerry beat tyrone at long last).
2. Mayo will win anyway.....they are in flying form as opposed to Dublin!

I think the fact that Alan Brogan return is greeted so highly just proves why Donegal will win sam. I think its fair to say without him Dublin are ordinary where as Donegal could loose 3 players and it would make no difference. Donegal don't need individuals its all about the system
