Kerry v Tyrone

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Well done Kerry, you turned up!, Tyrone had us all fooled into thinking they were any good, they were very poor today and got the beating their performance deserved. Extremely sorry for Mickey Harte but looks like its back to the drawing board for the Red Hand. God help us all, Kerry are alive!

Sad to see the ultimate demise of a once brilliant Tyrone side who were unquestionably the greatest team of the noughties and revolutionized the game -But Kerry didn't have to break a sweat today. They'll be a threat no doubt once they're back in Croker but are still too reliant on the old-timers to win Sam. Very negative and cyncial as well packing the defence, niggly fouls, constant gamesmanship - i exepct stronger teams like Cork, Dublin and even Donegal to comfortably put them to the sword.

Well a drubbing like that really tells a team and manager where the players are at. Tyrone have much, much work to do. Expectations were not that high but i think a July exit is a surprise. May it hold us in good stead, make minds up regarding certain players and direct Tyrone towards establishing a competitve team next year.

True enough moomoo Kerry were filthy! In fairness I would have to say Kerry were dirty enough but we still have another level to learn when it comes to proper dirt. I wish Donaghy would keep his mouth closed and concentrate on the football, he's alright when he does!!

In fairness the Dubs finished this team last August, and don't forget, we beat them in the league 2 final, say no more!

I'd be careful about who's finished! Limerick could be ending the Geezers reign .

Congrats Kerry on the win.
Our young pups are just not up to it yet but I'm sure that lesson will bring them on a long way for next year. In all fairness I wish we could have had that game when we still had a team. Good luck with the rest of the year.

Fair play for your congrats. Where are some of ye're other players gone? Our lads have been on the go since '02.

Today's result doesn't change that Dublin are favourites to win Sam '12 and that Tyrone are likely to win Sam '13. We'll be hoping for the best. Clare will be happy waiting in the long grass for the 4th round qualifier. Clare will rightly be favourites for that. Like today we'll be hoping for the best.

Fair play Kerry, best team won, hungrier team won; Tyrone were shocking poor, but we'll go away, take stock and go again next year.

I noticed all they Tyrone players wearing wristbands today. Turns out it was all in aid of a very sick wee lad - www.oscarknox.blogspot.com - Sure what's a game of football at the end of the day lads?

But congrats to Kerry - I can sit back and watch the last 12 of the All-Ireland without much fuss now!

fortyfive, it won't be my fault if that happens, I was purely making point about Tyrone, if Limerick win Geezer will be heading back in your direction!

Great result, it is a monkey off the back and beating a class team like Tyrone will do us the world of good, I hope the Tyrone fans that traveled to the match will now realise the amount of respect we have for their team and the people, I won't be getting carried away yet, we are only half ways there, still a lot of great teams left and we haven't played in Croker yet. Want to wish Micky Heart my best, a great man, humble and honest, those 2 family's deserve the best of luck, best of luck next year Tyrone.

Why did we persist with the long kick outs into the middle. Kerry won almost all of them and got a lot of scores from that.

Their whingeing, moaning and despicable media crying antics over the past decade show that Kerry don't have respect for other GAA, particularly Ulster, teams. They can go whistle now they want to be friends.

Congratulations to Kerry, totally outclassed Tyrone from start to finish!
Very disappointing!

Well done to Kerry who were the far better team. The decline for Tyrone began with the Cork defeat in 2009. Since then we have lost to Dublin, Donnegal and now Kerry. All four of these teams were better than Tyrone and it is a measure of where Tyrone are. 2012 was still a good season for Tyrone with promotion and a championship win in Armagh. 2013 will see a good year if we stay in division one and get a win in Ulster while trying to bring some younger players through.

2013 will be a great year for Tyrone. As I mentioned earlier, they'll be denying Dublin the 3 in-a-row. One swallow doesn't make a summer. One sunny day yesterday hasn't made a summer either based on the rain today! Anyways we did well to get past a difficult opponent. We'll be up against it against Clare who will rightly be favourites. Clare were Munster finalists, we did not make it that far. We'll have to improve vastly on yesterday if we are to get past Clare. At the moment it's hard to be confident of that.
