Kerry v Tyrone

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Fair enough micollins, I'll put away my sword, which I feel I have to use now and again to defeend my county,
I'm sure you know what I mean. Anyway back to the game, how Kerry deal with Penrose and, how Tyrone contain
Darren o' Sullivan tomorrow will define the outcome. Not be long now. ;)

Mickey Liniden was an exceptional talent missdown, and he is still in mighty shape! One of the greats. ;)

I was trying to find the 2005 All-Ireland final online, it isn't on youtube! Any ideas?

Dear Collins and Gatekeeper, lets make it half two at Tatlers, we can discuss your football prowess then?

1223442 i cant see kerry losing this game, not in killarney and not in front of 25 thousand plus kerry supporters, home advantage is a huge factor, people are very fast to write off kerry every time they have a run of a couple of bad games, come tomorrow evening kerry will have once again proved critics wrong.kerry out of the championship on the 21th of july in a 3rd round qualifier in killarney,NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! doesnt matter who they are playing tomorrow, cork are meant to be the best team in the country and they cant beat us there, kerry have not been beaten in killarney in championship since 1995 and cork are the only team ever to beat us there,

Well I would normally agree with your "Kerry out of the championship on 21st of July in a 3rd rd qualifier, NEVER GOUNG TO HAPPEN". I think most people would agree with that statement as been unlikely in fairness.
However I think most neutrals would add "Well unless they get maybe Tyrone" on to your sentence.

Now Killarney may be a fortress, however Kerry rarely play there after the Munster championship. By that stage Kerry play most games in Croke park.
How many non Munster teams have Kerry played in the championship down in Killarney since the qualifiers have been introduced?
I think Tyrone are well into rebuilding, and against Donegal they looked exceptional. I think they could be a real threat to kerry if they travelled early to the kingdom and rest. I'm expecting a top Kerry peformance too, i think they will be hyped for this game more than any other this year.

Still backing Tyrone to win

All the best Tyrone today unfortunate draw for both teams. No one in Tyrone will ever think or take lightly a Kerry team. This game troubles me for a number of reasons.
Kerry are being written - wrongly.
Kerry are at home - with just less than a week to prepare there is little time for both but particularly Tyrone given the travel. Mickey Hartes team are all about preparation.
Kerry have more players involved with scores to settle - 3
This stage of the tournament is more likely to produce a shock
Tyrone are being heralded again yet are in re-development while Kerry are full of proven winners and being written off we have very recent precedents for this as our Dublin friends will testify.
Besides hoping for a Tyrone win. I am hoping for a new found respect between both proud counties and have seen enough from both counties to think this is not in vain.

This has been an unfortunate draw for Kerry but it's the nature of the qualifiers. Fall-out of your province and you'll face an uphill task like this. We're the team off form, nowhere near where we were to get to an All-Ireland final. It seems we're all set for an early exit. It'll be disappointing but sure that's championship football.
Prediction for today: Away win.

Happy result today would be not to hear the term 'team of the decade'. Sadly I doubt it will happen though.

I would absolutely love to see Tyrone do it today , at the moment you have all these Kerry posters being very downbeat and submissive about their teams chances but come half six this evening should Tyrone win , there will be absolute rage and very much a change of tune from the Kerry posters , I think that Tyrone will blitz Kerry with usual raw intensity that they bring to matches , Tyrone will be hoping for a big display from their forward line which contains players who can all put up big scores , I really want to see big displays from Petey Harte and Stephen O'Neill , two players who have been a little quiet in the championship games they have played to date , it is promising for Tyrone that the likes of Mattie Donnelly , Conor Clarke , Sean O'Neill , Peter Harte , McCrory , McCurry will all be exposed to the raw intensity that'll be on show today , I have high hopes for these players , I couldn't say the same about Kerry's young players , none of the players that have come through for them in the last couple of years bar Tommy Walsh have been top class , what will get Kerry over the line today in the end will be the likes of Marc O'Se , Gooch , Galvin and perhaps Declan O'Sullivan and Tomas O'Se might put in heroic performances , something these two players have failed to do for some time now

Any chance of you both getting knocked out today? It would give the Dubs an easier run at it this year having had to overcome you both last time around. And to think some called it a "lucky" AI for us!!

Best of luck to both teams. It should be a cracker!

There won't be any rage. Just a build-up to the county championship and getting on with it. You should know yourself if you were in Croker for last years All-Ireland. In Championship, you can win, lose or get a replay.
