this really is one of the most exciting qualifier games ever and i cant wait for it! i think people have been harsh on kerry and although they were less than impressive against westmeath i expect them to win this game, home advantage will be key, kerry to win by 2 lilly_white (Kildare) - Posts: 13 - 19/07/2012 12:23:10 1222398 Link 0 |
Kerry were given a lifeline last weekend and they will beat Tyrone I feel, although I would prefer tos ee Tyrone do it LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2697 - 19/07/2012 12:47:52 1222431 Link 0 |
From a selfish point of view I'd prefer to see Kerry win it as I wouldn't want to meet Tyrone again this year but in saying that I think Tyrone will win this by 4-5 points. Tir Conaill Abu (Donegal) - Posts: 1677 - 19/07/2012 13:11:18 1222466 Link 0 |
People have been talking a lot about 2009, when Kerry sprung to life late in the season, and cruised to an All Ireland win. However, that was 3 years ago, and you have to wonder if they are physically capable of doing that again. At its simplest, I think that Saturday's match will come down to this question: 'Do some of Kerry's key players (i.e. Tomas, Brosnan, O'Mahony, Galvin & Donaghy) still have the legs?'. This could be the game of the year so far. As a neutral, I'm hoping for a Tyrone win, but it'll be a tough to get a result in Killarney. Westmeath didn't appear to get any "home town" decisisions last wekend, so it'll be interesting to see what happens on Saturday. football first (None) - Posts: 1259 - 19/07/2012 13:27:59 1222484 Link 0 |
Trying to gather a car load to head off on Friday to Killarney and come back early on Sunday to take in the Ulster Final on the way home. Redhandsam (Tyrone) - Posts: 93 - 19/07/2012 14:00:22 1222527 Link 0 |

It's really hard to know where Kerry are at, tbh it's hard to predict a lot of the games of late. 51longago (Mayo) - Posts: 2981 - 19/07/2012 14:22:10 1222552 Link 0 |

Well if this doesn't get a performance out of Kerry, nothing will, well maybe a QF with ourselves. If this was in Omagh I would put my shirt on Tyrone but the Killarney factor is a big one, hard to call, Tyrone slightly ahead in my book at the mo! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8818 - 19/07/2012 14:34:39 1222572 Link 0 |

One thing that I do agree with Pat Spillane about is the lack of talent coming through in Kerry , Tommy Walsh is the only young Kerry player to have come through that actually impressed me since 2008 and he is gone now , the likes of Paddy Curtin , BJ Keane , James O'Donoghoe , Daniel Bohane , Kieran O'Leary , Johnny Buckley and Peter Crowley just don't look to have what it takes to emulate what the players that went before them did , like being realistic Donaghy and Gooch are moving further and further away from their prime with each passing season , Tom O'Sullivan , Tommy Griffin and Mike McCarthy are gone and Tomas O'Se , Paul Galvin , Eoin Brosnan are not too far away from hanging up the boots , Killian Young is a solid if unspectacular player , Sheehan and the two O'Sullivans are still around although Declan O'Sullivan hasn't played well for Kerry since the Munster Final last year , Brendan Kealy is ok , they are a team with about 8 exceptional players , Marc O'Se and Gooch being the best , Sheehan , Galvin and the two O'Sullivans , Donaghy and Tomas O'Se are still very good but 6 of those players are 29 and over , none of Kerry's top players at present are under the age of 27 which is very worrying for the future stekhli (Dublin) - Posts: 3121 - 19/07/2012 15:41:11 1222673 Link 0 |
