Essmac.......your some cute Kerry hoar! Nobody could come to such a long winded, roundabout analysis as that.Except a cute Kerry hoar:)
If you are a Tyrone fan then stop being so negative for gods sake. This Tyrone team are more than capable of winning this game.

this really is one of the most exciting qualifier games ever and i cant wait for it! i think people have been harsh on kerry and although they were less than impressive against westmeath i expect them to win this game, home advantage will be key, kerry to win by 2

From a selfish point of view I'd prefer to see Kerry win it as I wouldn't want to meet Tyrone again this year but in saying that I think Tyrone will win this by 4-5 points.

People have been talking a lot about 2009, when Kerry sprung to life late in the season, and cruised to an All Ireland win. However, that was 3 years ago, and you have to wonder if they are physically capable of doing that again. At its simplest, I think that Saturday's match will come down to this question: 'Do some of Kerry's key players (i.e. Tomas, Brosnan, O'Mahony, Galvin & Donaghy) still have the legs?'.

If the answer is 'yes', then, playing at home, they will raise their game and beat a Tyrone side that is understrengthed and lacking in scoring power.

If the answer is 'no', Kerry will struggle to match Tyrone's pace & intensity, and the winner will be determined by how many/few scoring chances Tyrone convert.

This could be the game of the year so far. As a neutral, I'm hoping for a Tyrone win, but it'll be a tough to get a result in Killarney. Westmeath didn't appear to get any "home town" decisisions last wekend, so it'll be interesting to see what happens on Saturday.

Hi All
Imagine this.
Tyrone beat Kerry on Saturday with an under strenght team, Missing the Likes of Cavanagh, Coney and the rest, then head on to win the Sam back.
How good would they be next year?
Cant wait for Saturday. Killarney is the best town in Ireland for the crack anf Kerry women go weak at the knees for the northern accent,
Make sure all tyrone men have a double room, your all going to pull.

It's really hard to know where Kerry are at, tbh it's hard to predict a lot of the games of late.

This trend started for me with Ross beating Armagh...odds of 3/1......then Meath beat kildare at similar odds, sure wexford near turned Dublin over same weekend too, Leitrim beat Wicklow , Limerick beat Longford, Aintrim beat Galway and tipp beat wexford all these games were won by the outsiders in betting terms.

Kerry could of easily beat Cork as lost, one of them goal chances went in and i believe they would be in Q/F now but here we are and they could of quite easily of been beaten by lowly Westmeath last week, fine lines and a great season so far for the bookies.

Kerry will go for this hell for leather, forget the niceties in here and elsewhere , come throw in this will be full blooded stuff with no love loss , Kerry people do not like Tyrone in general, sure as hell they won't tell you that but they dont.

I could see Kerry winning this , then god love us if they get that momentum going .

I notice Jackeen has no problem with this draw, strange that...

Huh? What did I do now?

Well if this doesn't get a performance out of Kerry, nothing will, well maybe a QF with ourselves. If this was in Omagh I would put my shirt on Tyrone but the Killarney factor is a big one, hard to call, Tyrone slightly ahead in my book at the mo!

Too hard to call.

Tyrone look like the better team at the moment. But you can NEVER rule Kerry out.

One thing that I do agree with Pat Spillane about is the lack of talent coming through in Kerry , Tommy Walsh is the only young Kerry player to have come through that actually impressed me since 2008 and he is gone now , the likes of Paddy Curtin , BJ Keane , James O'Donoghoe , Daniel Bohane , Kieran O'Leary , Johnny Buckley and Peter Crowley just don't look to have what it takes to emulate what the players that went before them did , like being realistic Donaghy and Gooch are moving further and further away from their prime with each passing season , Tom O'Sullivan , Tommy Griffin and Mike McCarthy are gone and Tomas O'Se , Paul Galvin , Eoin Brosnan are not too far away from hanging up the boots , Killian Young is a solid if unspectacular player , Sheehan and the two O'Sullivans are still around although Declan O'Sullivan hasn't played well for Kerry since the Munster Final last year , Brendan Kealy is ok , they are a team with about 8 exceptional players , Marc O'Se and Gooch being the best , Sheehan , Galvin and the two O'Sullivans , Donaghy and Tomas O'Se are still very good but 6 of those players are 29 and over , none of Kerry's top players at present are under the age of 27 which is very worrying for the future

I hope they are ready for the intensity of the Tyrone tackle ;-)

good post - however I still believe O'Leary & Curtin & BJK will all come good for Kerry in due coursr - also Maher very underated player in my book.
