Good morning sports fans.
Well its finally hear, I could hardly sleep last night, I was like a kid on christmas eve lol.
This morning I'm nervous very nervous, I fear we could get blown away. The young lads might not be able to handle the cauldron that is croke park on leinster final day and v dublin. I hope the senior players like, joe, farrell, bray, k reilly, keep their feet on the ground.
As I said before I genuinely believe this team will not only compete for but win leinsters and possibly a all ire over the next 4/5 years., but this year may be just that bit soon I fear, last night in portlaois our performance v kildare was put into perspective, they are a very average team built on hype without any substance, we have improved since last years leinster and indeed since the league, but I just feel it may be a stretch to0 far to beat the reigning leinster and all ire champs.
I go in hope and if they put in another solid performance then maybe just maybe.
Anyway best of luck to both teams today and indeed both sets of supporters, I know as I drive to the big smoke today I will have belief and to the meath team and management I thank them for that, let's be honest in this recession hit country , for a little over 4 hours 70,000 people will forget about all our troubles, cheer on the players of tomorrow, cheer for the teams of 21 years ago, and cheer for our lads of today, good luck to all, btw had great craic on this thread at the end of the day you can't beat meath v dublin.

I'd agree with all that royaldunne, my chief concern is how the young players will react on the occasion, now I know it's worked wonders for us before (think of 96) but history means sweat f a on the day. Our established players need a big game aswell to settle the young lads down but as we all know they're very hit and miss so I think a lot of things need to go right for us today, Dublin are the AI champions and can probably afford a passenger or two, we certainly cannot. No point being too downbeat though, this is a Meath v Dublin leinster final, something I grew up on and savor very much, for me it can't be beaten for atmosphere and sense of occasion so best of luck to both teams and may the best team win.......hopefully Meath, UP THE ROYAL

i disagree...........the meath supporter will have many more troubles heaped on them today...................there will be renewed cries for banty's head on a platter.......meath will still be in the championship but that will be short lived they'll have no silverware and .......they'll also still be in division 3........

Well done Dublin. Valiant effort by Meath thought it was a poor leinster final, both teams where very poor passing from both teams.

3 points flatters Meath we were the way better team. EOG was brilliant Bernard motm and the defence was outstanding until the last 5 minutes.

dublin were really pathetic at times today, they have gone back from last year .............today was a moral victory for a division 3 county..............others however will see it as a something bigger which it certainly wasn't................leinster football is poor............the winner of the 2012 all ireland will come from cork, kerry or donegal............

Well done dublin , the better team won. Not by any means a vintage leinster final, meath showed spirit and never give up attitude but to be honest the game was over after the 2 goals. Still lots to work by banty and co, but well done lads any of us would have taken a 3 point defeat to all ire champs in a leinster final a few months ago.
Laois up next sat so this day week we could be in all ire qf. Let's hope. Well done lads again.

Very hard to keep focused when that far ahead. For Dublin there will be tougher games ahead and they will have to keep the foot on the gas for all of the game. For Meath they can take great heart, thought Farrell was good free taker and soem of the young lads will gain hugely from this experience.

Good man clondalkindub. That's like me saying the Meath defense was great and only for that 2 minute spell in stoppage time in the first half we would have won by 3 points. Why did Dublin deserve to win by more exactly?

Gammy no one really cares about the league except people from Louth. The chances are we will be in division 2 and Louth will be in Division 3 the following year. Next you will be going on about the O'Byrne cup or some other secondary competition. It's all about championship.

Well done Dublin, never in danger of losing, well done Meath for a very gallant effort against a better team and never lay down. Bright future for the royals with that lot!
