The mystery for this Dublin team who had targeted this game all year is: after the early KK goal (thats what they do afterall) why did the intensity of the first 5 mins just stop totally dead and the team litterally became ghosts on the pitch?! There was not one ounce of spirit, hard hits, tackling, challenging, etc! It was like as if they all just stopped dead and didnt want to play anymore! I thought Declan Ryan's substitutions were very questionable yesterday, especially the timing of them. Lar's intro was timed badly, and Tipp's forwardline were motoring really well when that 'disruption' was visited on them just before half-time. Then, although he was clearly planning to use 20 players, he failed to substitute the carded O'Brien before he got sent off, but still managed to substitute Ryan & Burke from the forwards, although Ryan was playing reasonably well and Burke was playing extremely well. While all this needless tinkering was going on with a forwardline that was hurling well, he didn't seem to have any Plan B for a backline that was being taken to the cleaners in the first half. As Cyril Farrell said afterwards, he was a great hurler! Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4262 - 25/06/2012 11:29:53 1201507 Link 0 |
Hill kk are the standard bearers their record shows that and no-one argues that, I never said Tipp were the best team in the country. We have alot of work to do especially in our full back line. They way ye Dubs are talking about there being no shame in being beaten by the best team of all time is way off the mark. kk didn't even have to get out of second gear to beat ye on Sat. I thought ye would give kk a good game and I was hoping that ye would announce yerselves as all-ireland contenders but ye didn't. Clare are a pretty decent team with young talent coming through, it is not an easy draw, Daly has alot of work to do to try and get these lads pumped up again. tipptothetop (Tipperary) - Posts: 531 - 25/06/2012 11:36:55 1201517 Link 0 |

benedict I was questioning the subs myself at the time but Lar needed game time and he done well after coming on even though his touch needs to improve alot but that game will help him alot. Pa Bourke was out on his feet, he had a great game but he was starting to tire. Johno is an experienced player and it happens, fortunatly it didn't cost us the game but you can't sub a player just because he is on a yellow. Declan was a great player and no-one should question him as a manager, 1 championship defeat and that was an ai final. tipptothetop (Tipperary) - Posts: 531 - 25/06/2012 12:10:29 1201547 Link 0 |
Thurles if that was KIlkenny playing ye yesterday, they would have scored at least two goals and our backs would have not conceded 1-22. mullinr2 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 59 - 25/06/2012 12:10:54 1201549 Link 0 |

After that abject dublin display I would expect clare to beat them at home in ennis. hurlinspuds (Cork) - Posts: 1494 - 25/06/2012 12:20:57 1201568 Link 0 |
There is that kk arrogance. Well our forwards probably wouldn't have scored 1-22 we prefer 4-17. tipptothetop (Tipperary) - Posts: 531 - 25/06/2012 12:23:05 1201571 Link 0 |
Let them all keep writing Tipp off, we were finished as a team after the league if HS was anything to go by, the fact is we have learnt our big lesson from last year peaking to early, now Tipp are just doing enough without hurling for 70mins and looking like we have loads in the tank when needed. Cork are going to be a serious team in two or three years. therealtmo (Tipperary) - Posts: 1292 - 25/06/2012 12:39:57 1201591 Link 0 |
How long are ye going to hang onto that win in 2010. Ye seriously thought that after that win ye would win the next 5 in a row, but KIlkenny have proved what it takes to be true Champions. Ye can highlight it as KK arrogance all ye want, but the matter of fact is Tipp couldn't even win two in a row. Get over it Tipp boys ye have only 1 All Ireland with this Tipp team. mullinr2 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 59 - 25/06/2012 12:46:30 1201595 Link 0 |
Ha ha mullinr only time will tell, there is alot of huring to be played this year yet. We have Waterford to play in a munster final next. Did ye forget that ye have Galway to play in the Leinster final yet or have ye won that already? Should we just give ye the all-ireland now is that what ye want? tipptothetop (Tipperary) - Posts: 531 - 25/06/2012 12:53:45 1201600 Link 0 |
Yeah i mean sure kk folk are the most humble folk in ireland, salt of the earth etc. Never met such an arrogant shower in my life. Alveoli (Tipperary) - Posts: 37 - 25/06/2012 12:54:24 1201601 Link 0 |
have a friend from Dublin that had his son at the game sat night, and he said he will never bring him to a kk game again because of some kk supporters had him in tears half way in to the second half with there carry on , he called them savages, growing men these were, just was not good enough that they were giving the Dubs a hiding they wanted the supporters to feel it to. He had to tell them to f**K off and leave the kid alone that he was only down to see a match and his hero Henry and left. , to there reply you should bring him to Nolwan park if he wants to see a real game there training Tuesday night. Some carry on in front of kids. therealtmo (Tipperary) - Posts: 1292 - 25/06/2012 13:30:28 1201657 Link 0 |
