This is a bloody disaster, only thing I can hope for is the wind in the 2nd half. Everytime a Down player gets the ball he drops the thing, not marking properly, while Monaghan are having the ball stick to them like superglue and are supressing Down with 3 players around him.

Got Monaghan at 2/1 myself. Looking good right now, but I'm expecting a big Down fightback in the 2nd half. Very timely goal just before half-time

Monaghan the better team by far, Down haven't turned up and it will take some turn around here. However the performance of the referee cannot go unchallenged; the Down fans have got angry at some of his decisions, you can hear their anger and howls of derision at the referee, and haven't been slow to let him know. The referee is applying two sets of rules here; he is blowing up the Down players at every opportunity for even putting a hand on the Monaghan fellas while he is letting the most blatant fouls on Down forwards away unchallenged. Monaghan players have been allowed to crowd, push and kick Down players on the ground and the referee has played on virtually every time while penalising the Down team on the times they actually do go near a Monaghan player; there is total double standards and inconsistency going on.

very disaponted with down. i thought they were ulster title contenderd. either way now i cant see either of these competing with whomever wins the other semi.
a few weeks ago i made comment that ulster have 5 great teams. derry and down have lost it completely.

need major step up in this second half

Good match now, referee having a better game too. Young Laverty for Down looks a good player taking some lovely scores.

Talk about a game of two halves, great stuff to watch, Laverty is a gutsy lad.

I take that back, shocking decision not award Down a second penalty there; as blatant as they come and what if that costs Down the match?

Down No 7 definitely walked on the Monaghan players head on purpose. You could see him have a look and then put the foot down. Wasn't picked up on by the commentary.
