Meath lads took a lot of slagging here after National League. I said then twas unjustified and they have now proven me right. Twas like Mayo last year struggling over London and going on to beat Cork in the quarter final. This Championship is wide open at the start people were saying Dublin, Cork or Kerry. Add Meath & Donegal to the list now and don't put away your pencils yet.

Meath destroyed them in midfield. Meath also better depth in panel with quality forwards like Queeny able to come on late in the game. If Banty wins Leinster he'll get the keys to Navan!

Suncroft, lillypad, possom, dingus, sedico, kildarekelly, kildare30. And everyone else.
I TOLD YOU SO.
My voice is gone. I want to thank the dublin, and wexford supporters for giving us a help with the rendition of come on you boys in green.

Meath were magnificent today but we will face a lot better opposition in final.
Banty is the real geezer

Well done Meath. I'm not usually a fan and would support Kildare against you normally, but I was rooting for the Royals today. As a hurling man, I am disgusted with the contempt shown for hurling with Seanie Johnston's one minute charade yesterday. Really low stuff.

I know some Kildare people will point out the Thomas Walsh thing with Wicklow - on that point I was equally disgusted with that. At least he was living in Greystones. Is Seanie Johnston really commuting back to Cavan from Kildare everyday to teach?? I'd be skeptical. As a person who commutes a fair distance to work - it's pretty grueling. I wonder will it be worth it in the end for Seanie. He still has to work in Cavan and ultimately his life will be spent in Breffni....

What a performance, well done Meath..

Great performance from all the young players, full of heart and determination.

An absolute victory today for Football over athleticism....

To Kildare, chins up...beaten by a better team on the day but no cause for pessimism, there's no one in the qualifiers who'll want to face you

To Meath supporters, no need for gloating..be as magnaimous in victory as you should be in defeat

I don't want to be coming on here rubbing this in kildares faces but the smugness and the arrogance over the past few weeks has been unbearable. Kildare were set to beat our poor division 3 team by 15+ points today! I relish the challenge of possibly playing either Dublin or Wexford as I know we can have the banter with them and not be told we can't play good football. Well done Meath today those young lads have no fear and as for the fit Kildare side in my opinion we ran you into the ground and were pacey and well ready throughout the game! Congratulations Meath we will have a great night in the royal county and best of luck to Dublin and Wexford.

I'd love to see a Cavan v Kildare game in the qualifiers. Nothing motivates Cavan people like having to give away something for free..!

Super performance by meath and they have some footballer in young gillespie at midfield. I am not suprised by the result - Kildare are overhyped by so called experts despite the fact they can not beat any top teams.

Well done Meath, looks like we will have a proper Leinster final this year! Where will Seanie go now for a bit of glory? Throw in his lot with the Tipp hurlers?

Congrats Meath!!! There seems to be a terrible amount of negativity thrown at Meath on this site and I for one am delighted they won in such style today! Well done!!!

Fair play to Meath today for a great display of of their traditional values of heart, high fielding and taking their chances with conviction.
I couldn't believe the Wexford supporters were shouting so vociferously for Meath. Afterall we have no baggage with the Slaneysiders down the years. But now its dawned on me that the SJ saga has turned people against Kildare because they see it as going against the spirit of GAA. Whatever about the morality , from the word go, it sends the wrong message to the forwards that are challenging for a starting spot. "We dont believe in you" is the message from management and this modern day legend from Cavan is gonna wheel in "big show style" and knock you out of the team without so much as a minute of league play. Its a joke, that is not a healthy sporting mentality to bring to a team set-up and now for the first time in years Kildare lost without displaying their usual fight. If we were world beaters then this would be a lot easier to take but when the team spirit of a team like Kildare is threatened then they don't have much hope.
On the morailty side of it I dont agree with it either as Kildare should win or lose with players that are 100% involved with county through birth or work/club. If it proves that we're not good enough. We take our beating and walk away with our heads held high, that's sport. This management set-up have forgotten what sport is about. I hope I speak for a lot of Kildare supporters.

Ferocious stuff from Meath. The Meath of old have returned. It should be a great Leinster final.

Hard luck to Kildare. The just could not overcome the extra man in the second half. I'm sure they will regroup and come back stronger and lower the colours of quite a few counties yet.
