i think croke park could suit this meath team, they are a lot younger and fitter then last year with four 21 year olds in defence plus forde and carroll up front.i think if were still in it with 20 mins to go the young lads could win it for us

its always good to have the younger lads come aboard fresh faces and they have no fear of playing any team so it might work well for meath but in tighter games usually experience has the upperhand onlly time will tell not long left now anyway...

kildare need to stay very focused on the job at hand.............sundays game is not about winning all-irelands.........it's a provincial semi-final that's what it is.........a lot of Meath posters are enjoying heaping this no all-irelands nonsense pressure on the lillywhites going into this game................it's just another form of the skulduggery meath are no strangers too...............there'll be no all-ireland won on sunday for either team it's merely a stepping stone.............a meath loss should spell the end of the road for them this year...........kildare on the other hand are one team well capable of going all the way through the back door route............a loss (though i don't expect it) for them on sunday could be a blessing as it could well spare them from more heartbreak at the hands of the dubs in the leinster final...............meath are useless at that will be shown to all on national tv on sunday...........kildare will win comfortably without ever having to get out offf second gear...............

Very well put, but I would go further to say the Dubs are really up against it in the LF, especially after we steamroll these mediocre footballers we'll be at full-throttle heading into the LF!

Think the GAA world is in for a surprise tomorrow Guys. I dont buy into this Kildare hype at all, they are an average team, not a whole lot better than Wexford, Longford but yet there is all this hype about them. Meath are as good if not better than Kildare and yet there is nothing about them, I can see them beating Kildare tomorrow and that will be the end of the Hype and probably the end of McGeeney and a few of the elder statesmen.

Meath 1- 15
Kildare 0 -13

Either way I cant see either team getting within 10 points of the Dubs in the final.

Well if kildare don't win this they will win nothing. A team missing 12 players. 7/8 of them certain starters. It adds to the pressure mcgeeney and the team will be under to put up a score and more importantly get goals.
Meath will throw caution to the wind. The young lads will feel they can make a call for starting by right instead of through injuries

dhorse don't be worrying you're little head about kildare or mcgeeney............they'll be just fine............tomorrows game is merely a stepping stone for kildare whereas it's a make or break game for meath...................meath are useless...........wicklow had them trailing by 6 points at one stage and carlow could and should have beaten them the first day when they had their full team out................this game is going to be so one-side people with be switching their tv's over to watch the irish open golf on rté 1 or the tour the france on tg4, even come dine with me on tv3 will be providing better entertainment.

all the pressure is on kildare as they have to win something this year, meath have nothing to lose.it will be close but i think with bray and byrne coming off the bench in second half meath will do it

It still will be tight. Hit them with everything we have got within first 20 mins and let's see can they handle the PRESSURE !!!

dhorse you are full of bull you know full well kildare will destroy meath tomorrow.......you just want to take that away from kildare and thats the reason you and others are heaping this pressure on kildare off having to win something this year...........kildare are well capable of beating this meath team by 20 points but then what would the point of that exercise be............meath are useless.....so if kildare decide to bring their shooting boots with them the game will be well over as at contest at half time........bray and byrne coming off the bench in the second half wont make one bit of difference

I feel for the Meath fans there hoping for the impossible. For me it's going to be a comfortable win for kilavan. Meath missing Reilly is just to big a loss and Bray only half fit , I'm sorry royaldunne but yis have no chance.

Page 40.....can't wait till this game is over, the most boring rivalry in GAA history...a county who was once a good team v a county blown up by the media who have yet to win a bloody game of any significance , jesus wept

For all the Meath people talking about how there is no pressure on them would do well to read Dara O Cinnéide's column in today's Examiner.

"One of the things that made Meath such a strange and tough proposition in the past was that they never complained when they were beaten. They just got on with the business of licking their wounds and regrouping. Under the current regime, there always seems to be a reason or excuse for defeat and a strange unwillingness to acknowledge Kildare's obvious superiority in many aspects of the game...Sooner or later, Meath players and their management team in particular are going to have to put up or shut up. Tomorrow is their chance. "

Colndalkin me auld flower, I fear you maybe right. The loss of reilly and a not fully fit bray adding to the other 10 might be a bridge to far.
But sure no point in me giving up as the flag is about to fall. The kids could turn in a great traditional meath performance. Hears hoping. And ill stay to watch the dubs walk to another final either way.
Gammy are you heading to cusack park this eve? Or do you think that westmeath just have too many players?

doublehop - Yeh I for one agree with that. Kildare are ahead of us at the minute even if we win tomorrow that still applies. I just want to see the team doing their best and reaching their potential win loose or draw.

By the way I think we will be seeing Kevin Reilly take to the field at some stage tomorrow. An Mhi Abu!
