I think the fitness of 90% of this meath team would match any in the country. Certainly a lot more pace than last year , now ok gilsennan been out is a blow as he another one with unbelievable speed.
Physically? Maybe we wouldn't have as much upper body strength as kildare , but then we make up for that in executing scoring chances.
I do think this will be a better match than last year. Croke park will suit this team better than last year due to new set up and of course the debut players too.

Whats chance have Meath got on Sunday when their own fans think that 1 or 2 of the players are overweight and unfit. I have to admit that even if I thought that one of the Kildare players has spent too long at the dinner table I wouldn't be saying it out loud. Talk about washing your dirty linen in public.

If Kildare had won the all ireland last year i might be able to understand their over confidence.

Traditionally meath fans are arrogant dont bother denying the were/are and dont bother telling me that if meath had won kildare in the their last FIVE outings that meath wouldnt be a slight confident please......I actually could imagine the stuff royal and likes would be saying if meath had won kildare the past 5 times!!

Royaldunne, if Meath don't win on sunday you are in for some abuse lad!
On the other hand, if Meath win, hoganstand will be clear from the 'white noise'
for a while! I admire your conviction lad! ;)
Now that the SJ deal is complete and he will probably play for Kildare on sunday, a
victory for Meath this weekend will be a victory for the traditional values of the GAA. ;)

Conviction indeed. Slagging you own county players for being obese is conviction now is it?

Royaldunne, I wouldn't be so sure about fitness. We will know on Sunday whether this is true or not. Remember Wicklow and Carlow didn't exactly test our fitness.

We haven't seen a lot of players on this team play in Croke Park, so it will be interesting to see how they get on. It will be a big test for them, but I'm sure the younger ones will definately be up for it big time, along with the likes of Biggy, Farrell, K Reilly. We need a big game from Joe and Cian, although they were good against Carlow and Wicklow we need them at their best on Sunday.

Gatekeeper he can't play till he plays in club championship. The transfer was complete before the Offaly game and he didn't play then either. Talk of him playing the hurling game on the 30th. A lot from the northern 6 counties are very much against the transfer. Lots from Monaghan, Donegal and even Cavan have no problem and wish him the best. Enda Williams got dropped from Longford and swictched to Leitrim. His was parentage rule, Johnstons was residency. Nothing was said about williams, being a low key player moving to a smaller county.

I have yet to hear from or read posts from these 'lots' from cavan, donegal and monaghan who agree with the transfer!

Refreshing to see a sane post on the matter.

The gatekeeper is really only a Royaldunne/bobjaffa groupie with the same old stuff rehashed over and over.Wasting your time lads reasoning with him.

Ha Ha St. Conleth, good spot......notice how royaldunne and the gatekeeper always use the word "hear" in the wrong context

Oh dear god yous are getting very pathetic looking at this stage.
I'm trying to keep up. But so far I am royaldunne, thegatekeeper, bobjiaffe, bettstownroyal, joeblogs, jinxie, glasagus, thejoeshow, someone from mayo, and I even think clondalkin.
So if I am correct basically everyone who hasn't said kildare are top 4 team. Seannies transfer 100%. Kildare are the all ire champs elect etc etc.
Maybe just maybe all those people myself included just don't rate the flourbags?
Now there's a thought.

What context are you on about?! I suggest you have a look at your own grammar!
I am not a Meath supporter, I am a GAA supporter, and will support any county that
plays against Kildare this year, in support of the core values of the GAA. Kildare went
to far!!

Of course your quite entitled to your opinion but it's ironic when a Kildare poster feels confident that Kildare will beat Meath you come here apoplectically spluttering over your keyboard at the adacity and the arrogance that any Kildare fan should hold such an opinion. In your belief Meath confidence is belief in your abilities to win whilst Kildare confidence is regarded as arrogance.

And we don't go around slating our own players for being fat.

Things are getting pathetic, this is just pages of people repeating themselves. Can people stop being so arrogant and single minded and be realistic and fair about things. The slagging and digs are going overboard.
