What type of crowd is expected for sunday? No doubt the Kildare fans will out number the Meath fans as usual..

1202531 Connollydub it might be no harm if you took a look back at the match yourself, if as you say you dominated Kildare for 66 minutes how come it took a dodgy decision by the referee to get you over the line? I'm afraid in your rush to downgrade the Kildare performance that day you are willing to take poetic license with the facts.
As your esteemed fellow county man SEDICO said, its a matter of opinion.

Unfortunately. I have to agree. The winner of this is only going to face certain defeat at the hands of dublin. I do think the tradition of meath v dublin in a leinster final would add to intrigue and as we all know form goes out the window but to extent of a meath victory is very doubtful. But still its the final all neutrals would want imo

1202537 Sedico... we've won 7 of the last 8 Senior Leinster championships, U-21's, Minors, at all levels in both codes we've been winning Leinster championships quite steadily over the past 10 years
I've held that Del cup more times than my favourite Jaws tea cup
Yeah we'd want to win it why not.. it's another one to add to our outstanding Leinster dominance. Just look at the stats
but well winning Leinster means a lot more to you boys... so if you win one... well done. Because well sure with this squad, with our underage so strong, Jim Gavin just waiting for his opportunity.. he already has 3 U-21 AI's to his name. He knows our lads very very well... he's already manged many of the team to AI glories.
Well trust me... we'll be winning plenty more Leinsters long after Geezer heads back up to Armagh
:)
So now Leinsters do count for something. I wish you'd make your mind up. Confused much.

clondalkindub How could you possibly know whether doublehop's club haven't won a game this season? Just curious.

no your wrong there royal even brendan murphy (carlow) came out to say he would want to see a kildare v dublin leinster final I know you say a meath/dublin one form goes out the window but after last year kildare v dublin would be magic nearly full house love to see it.

I'm also thinking of the neutral when I hope for a Kildare win on Sunday. The Leinster Final wouldn't be a very attractive spectacle with the kick and rush tactis employed by Meath. Aimless balls into the big burly full forward just doesn't cut the mustard anymore. Nobody enjoyed watching Wimbledon back in the 80's so I can't see them enjoying seeing Meath in a provincial final.
Kildare v Dublin/Wexford would make for much more of a football game.

Ahh now lillywhite. Last year? Come on we all know if dublin hadn't been reduced to 14 men they would have won by 6/7. And I'm not been a wum when I say that. Most even in kildare would agree that. As for brendan murphy didn't hear that , but what else would he say after just been hammered by meath? The whole gaa knows what a match between dublin and meath brings plus add in the fact that we only team to have beaten them in leinster in what's it now 8 years? It wouldn't be near a full house, it would be packed out. Sashman ? Ehh last 2 games meath outnumbered kildare fans!! Now ok both were in navan which might have had something to do with it. But get facts straight. And even if they do bring more on sunday. All the better.

It's funny how you Kildare and Meath crowd have been constantly bickering away on this post when this game is really only a side-show to the Wexford/Dublin game. For God sakes everybody knows that the winners of this game don't have a chance against the winners of the Wexford/Dublin game. What a joke!! Haha

Yep the gaa needs meath to win on sunday. They want to send out a message that puke football and dodgy transfers are not the way to go. We will save football again just like ourselves and dublin saved it in 91.

1202324 Being from the Kildare Meath Border this is always an eagerly awaited contest and has produced some fantastic clashes so am really looking forward to this one. we have had the upperhand the last couple of years, but just about on a few occasions, qualifier last year in Navan being the most recent championship clash. There is an unknown quantity about Bantys new additions to the Meath team which I would be wary of as a Kildare supporter. Meath have a history over the years of producing a new team out of the blue. From a Kildare perspective I am just happy where we are at the moment and having Peter Kelly and Mikey Conway back this year has really strengthened our defence and attack. Our full back line of Kelly, Foley & McGrillen is one of the strongest around now. I hope Daryl Flynn is fit to play, If he is not I think we will struggle at midfield. I think Kildare have improved again this year, by how much is yet to be known, Its all to play for on Sunday and am really looking forward to it.
well said. i think it will be a great match too and your the first kildare fan ive seen actually giving this meath team a bit of respect. i do think kildare have been slighty better than us over the last while however no matter how good your team is you should always give the opposition respect because you never know if your team could have an off day.

The rest of us must be in some seriously bad state if Meath are the saviours.
Dublin? Possibly. Meath? Not a chance good sir.

To be honest nick I believe kildare and meath should be on second because it will be way more exciting than wexford and dublin the only reason your on second is to accomadate the dubs that have to travel ten minutes to croker.
By the way royal again your living in the past meath and dublin years ago would be exciting but dublin are now a level or two ahead of meath granted meath would put it up to them because the winner of kildare/meath it will give them confidence. I just dont see meath putting the five past cluxton again feel kildare will give them a better game they can match them in terms of fitness ,physically etc.

Yeah, we haven't won a game all season. But I thought you'd prefer that than the controversial transfers you are always giving out about. You know the ones, your own club was involved in one with Tom Kelly who won an All-Star in 2003 and then came to Towers from 2004 to 2006 before he went back to play with own club.

Have to agree with this. I am looking forward to this match more than the Dubs and the Wexicans.

I couldn't see them putting five points past Dublin never mind five goals.
