1189614 Bags packed, ready to go. Doubt I'll find anywhere to watch the Cork/Kerry & Armagh/Tyrone double header in Poznan though. Its a shame, because I was really looking forward to those games. But an opportunity like this is rare, no way was I going to turn down the chance to travel to a major championships.
Why cant all our sports live in perfect harmony together? I dont see the problem
Because there are some folk in the GAA & its following who are too clannish, self centered and perhaps even greedy to think that our other sports have a right to exist.
The same applies to Rugby and Soccer. So many rugby heads looks down on the GAA and soccer to a lesser extent and some even believe Rugby to be the biggest sport in Ireland!! Deluded (relations of mine actually said that, stupid D4's)
Then theres the whole soccer brigade mostly in Dublin who have no time for anything GAA related.
I hope the soccer and rugby teams lose all their matches. Will serve RTE right for their lack of GAA coverage which you know are our national games.

Yes there is a small few rugby heads who look down on the GAA, more look down on soccer tbf and will call it wendyball etc and there is plenty of supporters of all the major sports who have no time for the other sports Your last sentence is totally the wrong attitude to have. I dont like gaelic football, love hurling but hate my local club, and dont like soccer but never want my local gaa club to lose or ireland to lose in soccer. I may dislike the sport(in the case of soccer) or members of my local club(in the case of the GAA) but i never would want either ireland in soccer or my local club or my county to lose in hurling or football

you can compare club championship games to provincial rugby as they are both irish sport and should be given preferance over british sport on the irish national news channel, should it not?and rte have not got the rights to the club championships or the heineken cup so alot of simliarties.
three quarters of the matches played in the rabo direct leinster and munster will have their second string teams playing so yes it is a second string league, it also aint the major competition its like the championship to the league in gaa terms, what does it matter if they drag the whole rabo thing out over the course of a year them games could easily be run off in a shorter time scale but because of internationals and heineken cup matches the rabo lingers on for far longer then needed and like the league in gaa comes to eventual semi finals.also the final is a bit of anti climax when you consider leinster played the heinken cup final one weekend and were out the following weekend for that final surely they could arrange at least a two week gap at the start of the year after dragging the competition out for that long

agreed but the problem is most of these soccer fools are ardent man utd, liverpool supporters worship all them guys and wouldnt bother to go to an irish international match all year and then when they make it to a competition like this are out with their ireland flags and buntings and professing the youll never beat the irish attitude.

Such a pack of moaners, whats it got to do with anyone else what other people do as regards who they choose to follow, how often or whatever.
People must be gettin sick of these uber types, that tell you what you can and cant do. I certainly would never let them deter me , i watch Celtic as often as i can afford, i support Mayo through thick and thin, i dont go and watch Ireland but i will jump on the bandwagon for the euros as regards showing a good interest, hanging out the flags etc, why not?
GAA fans can be so drool its cringeworthy at times.
Lighten up , have a few beers and enjoy the fantastic spectacle of sport.

your right we have had threads on here complaining about gaa bandwagon and people going as far as to say its the biggest bandwagon sport well you only have to look at how many people were turning out in the aviva stadium for irelands qualifiers 20-30 thousand and now look how many claim to be loyal supporters of them and looking for tickets to go over and buntings and flags if ever their was bandwagon supporters its them
i know a few heading over and most of them haven't gone to see oe qualifier game. there going for the session in poland. i'd go over if i had the time but it would be for the session not out of love for the team or soccer.

No one here is telling any one what they can do or cant do. People are just commenting on the topic. Obviously you don't like what people are saying and are on the defensive. Regarding the few bears, i'll be having a few bears tonight after my junior C football match and I will enjoy them watching the highlights from the football today - the football that will not be shown live because Norway are playing Greece - or two teams like that with no relevence to Ireland in the soccer!!)

Well said hill16, the hypocrisy of some Irish soccer fans is laughable, eg. They love Rooney when he plays for Man u, and hate him when he plays for England! They are a wee bit schizophrenic!

Lovin the Euro's absolutely brilliant stuff, ten times better than the drivel weve had to watch in the champ so far this year, and even worse - the commentary and punditry.

Hill I understand what you are saying about people not supporting Irish soccer clubs but instead supporting English soccer clubs but you can't have a go at people for supporting their country. You call yourself hill16 no1man, so is 80% of your fellow supporters on the hill when Dublin are playing and the Dub players who support English soccer clubs are they hypocrites for supporting Ireland in the euros?

yes is my opinion if they claim the reason they will not follow or attend league of ireland games for them reasons and support british clubs for them reasons like a fellow poster said its the same wayne rooney that plays for man utd that plays for england.i have no problem if somebody is a proper rep of ireland supporter its this british club loving brigade that then turn their attention to ireland when they get into a competition

How do you support these Dublin players so? You go to hill16 to watch your Dublin team for whom some or most of the players you have no respect for as you call them hypocrites. You are also having a go at alot of your fellow Dublin supporters for supporting their country. Maybe it is you who are the hypocrite.
